"Also Jane, Lana reminds me somehow of amy winehouse. such an amazing voice... but no stage presence whatsoever"

My friend had an Amy Winehouse concert DVD that we liked to watch sometimes. I gotta say, she was a bit of a trainwreck, but I kind of have a soft spot for raw, unpolished performances. That lady was slurring every word, but man. She could hit every single note with her non-words. Later videos get sadder - watching her thin, broken body moving jerkily... but then this voice!

On that note, I suppose I should leave a link.

Oh Colm, yes, I know all of those. Nice choices.

I didn't mention Adele because if you live in California, you have heard 5 of her tracks played on repeat on every radio station for years. At first I liked Adele, then I loved Adele, then I admired Adele, and now Adele Adele Adele. If someone mentions her name one more time, I'll throw up. Sooooooooooooo overplayed.

    Sib, nice Amy Winehouse tribute.

Jane...since you like bagpipes thought I'd add this one, though I'm sure you'll have heard it before, perhaps you have forgotten it? I spent a lot of my childhood in this remote part of Scotland so...kinda special for me :)

Yes, I'm not in love is really nice and quite easy to understand...I guy in denial of being in love :)

The sound of Silence...perhaps a little more difficult...I love all the lyric in this song but..my favourite lines...

"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
    And tenement halls"

This is the English version of Anak by Freddie Aguilar, the original version is even more beautiful, but not many will be able to understand that one..

I so love this song, it still makes me cry after all these years. It is about the love from a parent to the child..
