You guys really crack me up! This is pure Hoax!

Cosmo rays do not come from Mars. Cosmic rays are high energy particles released by stars and super nova.
A planet does not release cosmic rays. In any case, cell phones are fairly resistant to all types of astronomical radiation and there is no good reason to turn them off.
The earth has a churning iron core that generates a magnetic field that repels cosmic radiation. Most of the cosmic radiation is dissipated in the upper strata of the atmosphere.

Here is a scientific link for geomagnetic storms induced by solar flares. As I remember, Nana wrote a poem sometime ago. Nana, you are Ms. Sunshine:) so all we have to fear is your "sunshine" flaring/erupting some day over here. Until, then we are safe!

    Here are some links:

Noura! NO we are not going to die with an M class solar flare, but our cell phones might temporarily, and there is no fear of them exploding in/near our bed. :)

Exploding near our beds? I would piss my pants watching that. I would prefer death.

Wow, David, how do you know everything!? I mean, except for your wikipidia links, your posts are so useful.

Sweet Noura: No I don't know everything. As I had said earlier, I know very little! I have been around just a little longer.... so my brain perhaps has a few more fossilized imprints of ancient knowledge embedded from the recently past (modern) stone age.

Someone taught me how to use "Dr. Google" my most revered mentor......he or his Dad "Mr. Computer" weren't around when I went to high school. So, I have this tendency to try to test my brain against Dr. Google's factual collections, and each time I am surprised how little I know!
