The previous contests depended only on one thing: poetry.... I am trying to do something new.... and letting the audience be a part of this... so 70% of this depends on poetry. The rest percentage is for everything that isn't related to poetry.

What I wonder about is whether we'll know in which rounds the other contestants chose to use their votes in because if I saw that all picked the first round... I'd obviously think about doing that too to keep up I guess. :p

I have never read the books so I don't understand the whole process, haha. Mel tried explaining it but it's lost upon me. I don't get the using the votes, because if we don't know when the others use it it's crappy. Why wouldn't we all use em at once?

I'm confused.

Britt - no need to know what the movie or books are about to survive this game! they may be common in things, but I am inventing new rules :P Actually, I only read like 1/8 of the 1st novel. I liked the movie more! -- Note that the points you get on your poems from judges will definitely be greater than the votes from audience. So, the votes HELP a lot, but they cannot affect you much if you write something extremely brilliant!

That eases my mind a little bit. I'm bad at gambling though. Shooooooooooooooooot.

- Chels, as I said, there are some things common with the trilogy..... the votes you get represent the help/aid/prizes each district get from businessmen when they walk into the capitol for the first time after being taken care of.. makeup, haircuts, costume designs.... For example, Katniss Everdeen was the fire lady... due to her firey suit, she gained the highest attention and funds from businessmen.

But WHEN to use the votes, is something I invented to spark some suspense and head-scratching! And Winning has to do with WHEN to use the votes; but as I said, it can help only, not do miracles.

We can wheedle too? BEST CONTEST EVER.

The VOTES you earn from the audience will represent 20% of your final score, while the SCORE given by judges through all rounds will represent 80% of the final score.

``` For Example:

X gained 30 votes. He/She wants to use them in the first round.
In the first round, X scored 90/100.

So, (30x0.2) + (90x0.8) = 78

In the same round, Y scored 88/100, but previously, he didn't want to use the votes in this round.

So, (88x0.8) = 70.4

* In this case, the votes could help in keeping a large scale of distance in the final score between two contestants who scored approximately the same from judges, since the scoring will be accumulative.
