    Hellon, do we need the paddles or are you breathing on your own?

    I think I've just fainted because this isn't really what I had in mind

    ....The consensus among the mods, consistent with Janis' position, is that translations of another's work are not allowed in the members' profiles.

    Profile?...well that's not quite the same as posting on your account is it?...I mean, I had part of a poem by Robert Burns posted on my profile and I gave credit for it but....when you actually post it to you account...it has the chance to get commented on voted on and nominated on....that is the difference so....maybe you need to re word this?

    A member's profile here includes the collection of poems posted under their name. It does not limit itself to the biography portion

    * Edit

    Sorry Larry..I misread you last post...I'd just hate to see a lot of the quotes go from members profiles( not accounts)....most are brilliant and...yeah credit was given so...I was jumping into an argument that wasn't there....sorry...

    I believe snippets are allowed in actual profile pages if you give credit to the author(s), but you may not post poems to your account not written entirely by you (with the exception of PnQ collabs). Make sense?
    Take my profile for instance. I have several poems or pieces of poems written by professional poets included in my profile page, with a nod to the authors. I have zero poems or pieces of poems written by poets other than myself posted to my account.
    This is the proper etiquette ^

    I receive from the mod here in P&Q, a messages that states like this

    "The consensus among the mods, consistent with Janis' position, is that translations of another's work are not allowed in the members' profiles.

    This posting will serve as warning to all who have translations on their site to remove them unless they are translations of their own work.

    Specifically, if you have translated another person's work, even if you have incorporated much of your own ideas, it must be removed.

    The age of the original material, or whether it was authorized or in the public domain, is of no consequence.

    You have until 4 September 2012 to remove these works, after which they will be treated as plagiarisms or otherwise forbidden pieces. "

    just wondering if I done anything wrong, I had never translated any poem by another poet. I wanted to reply from those messages, but there is no reply button. LOL..

    Hello! That message was sent to every member of PnQ just to be safe. You weren't singled out, don't worry.

    This is a fair decision!
