*Stands and applauds you Paul*
This poem took my breath away... The subject is a powerful one. When others choose to judge us for the color of your skin, you need to stand up to the narrow minded negativity and be proud.
The strength within this piece is just wonderful! I love the repetition of the lines "when you laugh" each line is a bit different, but it builds up to the end of the piece.. And I loved that... and the end of this poem I was actually screaming "You GO Paul".. I will read this poem often, for it is packed with inspiration!! Well Done Paul

With No Horizon
by Nema
Nema, I have never read your reading, and I'm not sure if you are new to this site, but this poem deserved to be a front page winner in my book. I fell in love with this poem and I had to have read it at least a dozen times already. First of all, the tone in this piece is what really captivated my attention. Right away in the first stanza, which was fantastically described, best metaphor I have seen at least within a months time, left me feeling frustrated and sad with the you. I fell in love with the repitition, with the affirmed parenthesis of your thoughts. That gave this poem so much power, and strength. Absolutely loved the ending and how you came back to the "soul and thoughts" and the "sky" and just completely tied your piece together. If this was a piece of art I'd hang it on the wall in the biggest frame because I adored it and its something I'd want to read and stare at over and over. Well done!

Lillies (Etheree)
by Jenni
I love poems that end in questions! It gets me wondering long after I finish reading the poem and I try to come up with answers. I loved your word choice here...I don't think I have ever seen "susurrating" before but I loved it. It fit right in with the piece and thrilled with the alliteration : )
"while my mind wants to keep wandering.
Is this the start of something beautiful?"
^I liked your use of "wandering" here. I liked that "wondering" could fit into that slot as well but you scored twice with just one word. The mind wanders and wonders about the final question...nicely done!

This is such an elegant nature piece but it also feels like a love piece as well... what a creative Etheree!
From start to finish I was captivated by its flow and stylish flare. Each line made me feel the love of the lilies and within I could also feel the author smiling... or just reminiscing.. either way... it's a delightful formed piece! Well Done Jenni

Nautica Blue

Wow. I could just feel the longing in this poem...a longing for that person who represents this scent. It's crazy how a slight whiff of a certain scent can represent a person and take you back to a time when they were in your life. Your descriptions here were just wonderful. Reading the second stanza brought the scents alive for me as if they were dancing around the tip of my nose and telling me about this person you described.
"I never thought my palms would miss
the calluses that decorate your hands "
^Ah there is so much here! My favorite.

Speaking of Love
by The Poetess
I was not expecting that ending! I thought you were referring to a lover throughout the poem but I love how you ended it! Your metaphors and descriptions here were out of this world! I seem to be using a lot of exclamation points but it's because this poem has me screaming, "wow this is so good!" I could just feel the pain behind your words because you were so honest with your emotions...that is difficult to do because it cuts you open and sets it out for the world to see.
"a melody never composed
and the shape of a dying
pigeon,"
^What a sad scene...These three lines in itself made the poem flawless for me. Well done!

Bleu de France.
Xanthe, this poem is breathtaking! Your writing is so admirable, such talent at such a young age, it astounds me when I come across your writing, written with such sophistication. This poem had such a "unique" touch to it. You wrote a poem, told a story, but also inserted your thoughts within the parenthesis and thats what I liked. You made a statement, then shared what you thought about it. I didn't so much like the constant repittion of "blue" I wish I could have seen different wording or different ways to describe that color, however the story behind this, the metaphors, so incredible. I just loved the whole comparison to the ocean and how you used that analogy throughout the whole piece with words that described the view and the smell. Brilliant writing as always. I expect nothing less from you now!

Maryanne, this piece was so amazing. Your first stanza blew me away with imagery, Where on Earth do you come up with your details, with your wording. Your mind fascinates me and I often get jealous of the way you use your words. Its amazing. Loved the "gory" thoughts of ruby lungs, blood on the throats. Im not one to get into dark, sad, gruesome poems, however, I felt this had a touch of all three and for some odd reason, I was amazed and fell in love with this poem.
"I'm late for you October, I am two hours
past loving you and one month from
needing a wooden bench to tier history upon"
^ these are the kind of words that will make you famous. The kind of words that are gut wrenching, and makes one so teary eyed. I was so sad, tears swelled in my eyes the first time I read it and I just couldn't believe you wrote it. I adore your work. This was brilliant.

I admire and love to read poems about writing. This piece was very creative and elegantly written. I do adore small pieces and I felt like this needed to be highlighted!
I could really feel the emotions of the author and his ability to just let it all out.. the anguish he is feeling can be heard throughout the entire piece. I don't think there is a writer around who hasn't experienced this anguish.. and I really enjoyed this piece!! Well Done Max
