Inspired by Jasmine Mans' poem "Dear Ex Lover"

    "Dear Ex Lover:

I promise to stop chasing your memory in my dream"

    I will stop tight roping

the cracks you left in my smile.

I will no longer surf my tears

like the waves of a California ocean.

I promise to stop searching for your reflection

in the eyes of every Tom, Dick, and Dante

    that crosses my path.

I will stop treating my heart like my father's old pickup truck,

letting our memories backfire in my chest.

    I will meet a man

and baptize myself in his love

    like a Sunday morning.

I will hold him as if

your kiss didn't leave footprints on the beach

    of my heart

and when he asks me about my last ex,

I will pretend as if your name isn't engraved

on the inside of my lungs

and that every "I love you"

I whisper to him isn't tainted

by the very exhale of you.

    ------------

found this on tumblr, no Idea who wrote it but its
    GGGGOOOOrgeous with capital G.

Ugh boo boo.... let's not talk matters of the heart..
that doesn't excite me, it brings out the dry parts of me, you know. it rips me open like a bag of tea and
    I become useless. xoxo

    waw this please

"I'm afraid you'll find my tarnished parts, If you keep snooping around the way you do I'm afraid you'll see there is no land left here unchartered or un-charred. This was an empire before they burned their fires. Stuck their flags deep in this soil and when the earth was barren dry, they gave it back unholy. See I'm no piece girl when I love I give the whole of me.So when they left the lease in pieces they also left these holes in me. My monuments have seen some things baby; Civil wars, famine and crusades baby, the conquer and raid of holy places. So before we go any further, baby will you listen to the kind of mess my hearts been in, touch the grit that's sitting tranquil between each whittled rib. After all the best has been torn away, will you want the rest of me ?"

Oh come on Donald....give yourself a kick up the arse.....please!!!! You're nit picking here man....it's so not like you? Producing rules to back up your arguement....your ONLY arguement...I expect better from you, much better....but....you know I'm always game for an arguement so...your statement/argument (copied/pasted from the site I know).."authorized by the author"..what if the author is dead?

I have..in the past...had parts of poems by Robert Burns posted on my Bio...I gave him credit...he's no longer with us so ..can't authorise anything still, he has had a big impact on my life and I like to acknowledge that....your thoughts?

Dan this was actually changed by the mods and group a long time ago to allow poems (not our own) to be posted in forums for discussion, as people can't always open links from phones etc.

Distinguish Plagiarism from Copyright Violation, Donald. It is NEVER permitted to pass off the work of another as one's own, and that is not happening in the forums.

Properly cited Copyrighted works may be permitted on the forums under the Fair Use policy which is an exemption to the copyright laws.
