Do You Know?

Many of you have new facts of different subjects. Here I opened this thread so that everyone of you can throw the lights on these facs that are still unknown for other members. If this applied in the proper way every member will be aware of many amazing and useful facts. Thereafter I wonder if you can use them while you are penning your poems.
I'll start mine as an example:
Do you know that the strongest creature on the Earth is he ant? It can carry weights 5 times heavier that its own weight.

I'm not sure how useful this is, but it could make for an intresting poem.

Did you know that 13 people die a year from vending machines?
