Writing poems that dont rhyme can be even harder than rhyming ones, because often they dont "come off" quite right.

    Here is an example:

The night cradles us in her majesty,
    Sprinkled with lint,
Left from the Suns evening sweep,
    Avidly sparkling,
    As the moons rays,
    Caress your soft skin,
And bear witness to our loving union.

Whereas a rhyming poem doesnt need to be as profound, and the language can be much less "poetic:"

    Night reveals our loving embrace,
    As the starlight shines,
    And highlights your face,
    Moving together,
    United as one
    I am your moon,
    And you are my sun.

So I guess the advice that I have for you is that none rhyming poems need to be dealt with more carefully, they often require larger words or more intricate phrases to pull them off, and they usually have a more "woven" affect where you have to be more poetic in how you put your phrases together. Often they are ambigiousand connotate much more than they actually SAY.

    Hope this helps.

I'm sure other people have different advice to give you, but thats how I see rhyme vs. none rhyme.

As for the meaning. I personally think it is much easier to write poems that have tons of meaning and hidden messages and points in none rhyming form, simply because you are not bound to a certain scheme. I would recommend writing about life, philosophy, point something out about society, but it really depends on what you see as meaningful.
