This guy... ughh...I'd sell my life to feel exactly what he felt after jumping from the capsule in space down to earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Humans are amazing risk takers.. and adventurers.. He's a big inspiration!

    XD

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/15/us/felix-baumgartner-skydiving.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

Don't know whether he broke the speed of sound in his daredevil descent. Without his pressurized 4-layer space suite his ears would have popped out and he would have "blanked out".

Are you going to be the next one to challenge his record ? or is it Max or Gaurav?

I'm not much of a jumper, lol. I might break a heart.

    O.O

    OHMYGOD.

I would never ever ever ever do that, after thinking of ears popping out, and pressure...but I am impressed...how wonderful :/ :D :( not sure what to feel...I always wanted to keep falling for an hour ...without hitting the earth :/

  • Max

Well I am not sure if he broke the sound speed but he had great speed in the free fall =P
but if you count it with normal gravity laws he would have reached like 2000 m\s but I am not really sure xD

it sure was totally amazing lol

David the only time I did a jump was with a rope from a mountain at the Red Sea and I think even if he broke the speed of the sound nothing would happen as he already got throw much pressure u know but who knows if he really did

and I bet he felt amazing the guy just made history lol

Felix did break the sound barrier, and I, imagining
his thoughts as he dropped off his lofty perch,
into a bliss of dark lit wonder, falling faster than any man 'cept for Adam, upon the Eve of disaster, yet still prevailing over odds against him...Triumph!!

I love the idea of him being able to shout "Red bull doesn't give you wings but it does replace what should be government sponsorship" to himself, just before he broke the sound barrier and then being able to hear his own words as he opened his parachute.

    :)

Wow, just wow, when did this happen???

  • Max

Yeah I just made sure of it now he surly did go faster than the sound speed with will a lot like multiplied it but not really sure

cause in physics if we removed air he would be moving in around 2400 m\s and with air added the speed will be reduced by like 800-1000 so it would be round 2000 m\s but I am still not sure need to know his mass and air resistance in pure numbers to make sure

anyway he did an amazing job by being the first person to reach that speed ever
now lets w8 for some one to do that from a higher spot ;P

Max, go jump from the moon XD

  • Max

Oh yeah but I need something to shoot me to Earth cause I will need to pass a big part of space from the moon to Earth till I get into the Earth's gravity field ;P
and Abed I might love taking risks but I am not that risky ;P

  • Sunshine

.Max take me with you :D but you jump 1st

and LMAO @ Kevin and redbull LOL..

  • Max

Haha yeah you mean you die first ;P
the guy only jumped from above the stratosphere so he didn't basically broke the earth's barrier being shoot from the moon to the earth is suicide ;P

but it would be fun too haha

  • Sunshine

No no no you would not know unless you try...fine I will jump 1st..as you wish :P

  • Max

Haha why not jump together and we will bring Abed with us ( whether he likes it or not he is coming along it is his idea to jump of the moon ;P )

And I will send someone with a trampoline to catch you guys and direct you to the sun. haHA
    -----------------

The only reason Mr. Felix B was able to break the sound barrier without "jet rockets" attached to his waist, was because there is virtually vacuum up so high (24 miles up), so no air resistance to impede the inertia of a falling object. Actually, he did not feel the speed at all, is what he says, until he got down to 50,000 or so feet above earth when air became denser. He did lose control for a minute or so out of his 4.15 minutes of free fall before the parachute opened, spinning uncontrollably in circles. What surprises me the G-forces that he was able to resist without blanking out or having a brain hemorrhage when he was spinning around, with the blood virtually gushing to his head at incredible speed. Miracle of an anti-G spacesuit, I guess.

He set the world record for skydiving an estimated 39 kilometres (128,000 ft), reaching an estimated speed of 1,342 kilometres per hour (834 mph), or Mach 1.24, on 14 October 2012.
    An Austrian daredevil,
    --------------------------
and Kevin he was indeed sponsored by "Red Bull" as no one else will give him this kind of money for his daredevilry.

Lmao you just want us burned :P evil...anyway I am sunshine :P it won't do much to me, at least not negatively..as for Max...well you're going to hell anyway hehe :P...

very true...I wonder if that made him puke..if yes, I don't think I'd do it, having my ears or brains blown away is much better and easier for me, than puking.

^^ Nope Dear Ms. Sunshine, how can I ever think of playing an evil trick on the one and only sunshine.
I thought the moon to earth jump would be a good opportunity to test my special anti-G trampoline device that fires back, based on Newton's 3rd law of motion. And as you said you are already Sunshine, the only conceivable thing that can happen with this experiment is solar flares (sun's temper) could be neutralized when they meet the cool calm sunshine, like matter-anti-matter reaction, like Shaabaam meeting its alterego Kaaboom!. Then we have holy peace again (i.e no harmful solar flares) to harm us poor earthlings :)

  • Sunshine

Hahahah :P I will take this in a positive manner David lol...I hope the sun never burns anyone though. You never know what comes from behind the yellow lovely shiny ball :P the world is full of surprises.

on a side note, you studied science/physics/if-or/anything similar before ? you have a theoretical mind about this subject.

You studied science/physics/if-or/anything similar before ? you have a theoretical mind about this subject.

^ I would not deny that I do have a High school diploma, somewhere buried in my papers :)

And not to worry, the sun will not harm anyone, if you believe in Hanuman! Have you heard about the story of the little child Hanuman blessed with devine strength leaping towards the sun to engulf it, in the belief it was a ripe mango... until the King of God's, Indra fearing a calamity came to its rescue and struck him down with his Vajra (thunderbolt).
    https://sites.google.com/site/hanumanstale/young-hanuman
So according to the legend of Hanuman, all those who believe in him are blessed to be fearless and protected. So if you want to jump off the moon or fly in to the sun, you have to remember him first. :)
