Exciting News !!

I've become a very big lurker over the past year, chiming in when I could.

I just wanted to share with those of you who remember/ know me. Paul and I are expecting our first child come June.

This has been a long hard road with 3 1/2 years of trying and 3 losses experienced in Jan 2012, July 2012 and September 2012. After getting fertility treatments and being put on tons of medication to ensure my body doesn't attack the pregnancy we're excited to say we're further along in this pregnancy then we have been in the past. We feel very hopeful but aren't blind to the fact that this could be taken from us in a blink of an eye.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. <3

Aw that's such good news! I have friends in the same position and they are so excited. I hope you enjoy this time as though it were your first try and coast calmly through the rest of the pregnancy! All the best :)

Thank you everyone :) So far everything is going well. First ultrasound is on Friday. Early but we'll be closely monitored through this entire process <3

Whoa! Total congrats, Amanda. I'm sorry for all the rough times you've had this year, but I'm glad you're feeling healthy and optimistic. Based on the great, practical advice you've given here over the years, I bet you would be a smart and thoughtful mom. Exciting times!

Gutted for you, My wife and I have been through this several times. There is nothing more soul destroying.

I know we have not seen eye to eye in the past, and I hesitated to post in this thread, but I really do think you will be an awesome mom some day... and it made my heart wrench when I read your last post.

I wish you all the luck. You're a good person and deserve good things. Keep trying and keep your spirits up.

It's been a hard few weeks. We're just baffled at all of these losses. Our last loss they had me on 2 types of injectable medications to take during pregnancy and a few other medications. It helped us get to 9 weeks but unfortunately the baby's heart stopped beating. We are considered high risk and have to have Ultra sounds once a week upon a confirmed positive pregnancy test (via blood). Since July we've been working with a specialist (Reproductive Endocrinologist) and managed to get pregnant in September (our latest loss) via IUI (Fertility procedure less invasive then IVF). Paul and I aren't considering adoption right now, personal choice really and a long long back story to boot.

Thank you Jane for your heartfelt words and for reaching out. I realize it may not be easy given our past. So thank you again. We'll be going to see a Reproductive Immunologist to get tested for auto immune disorders (Lupus etc) They'll work together with my RE to hopefully get us our take home baby. We keep fighting that'll never stop (as you know I'm one bullheaded women) but I have to admit I'm getting to a point where there's only so much pain we as a family can take. Paul has been an amazing supporter and overall husband. I know he's hurting it's so amazing how he's been there for me in the wake of his own pain <3

Again I really appreciate all of your thoughts during this immensely tough tough time. The care truly means more then I can really say <3

So, so sorry, Amanda. I can't imagine how painful and exhausting this process is for you. I'm glad you have a good support base. I hope you get the family you're dreaming of in the future.

Update- We're pregnant again (again through fertility treatments), and are being so cautious about our excitement this time. We're hoping our 5th pregnancy is a charm to bring our first born home safe and sound. I just thought I'd let you all know.

It's been a bit of time. Just wanted to update that we're having a little girl in the middle of November. Our hearts are so filled with joy, we anxiously await her arrival and hope everything continues to go smoothly. Thank you everyone for your thoughts.

I have a batch of friends who haven't been able to get pregnant, and if they have, everything imaginable has gone wrong, but for whatever reason, 5 out of 7 of you are now pregnant, it's "sticking" (lol) and all having girls due in Nov/Dec time period!

Oh wow! That's amazing to hear. I'm considered high risk and my care has been absolutely amazing. To be honest I've been blessed with a (knock on wood) rather complication and pain free pregnancy. Catch me in the 3rd trimester and the pain part may change ;) Overall, Paul and I are very very blessed. I've been crafting up a storm, it's been a lot of fun to finally in some respects breath a bit easier. Here's a video of our gender reveal. Many thanks Angel. We feel truly blessed to so far have things go so smoothly. With only a week until our 3rd trimester everything is becoming more and more real. I often have to have my DH pinch me. It's truly a beautiful thing. Thank you again for your support and kind words.
