I was just thinking about songs/lyrics and how they inspire our sub-conscious....here is a song (I will try to find the lyrics because I realise there is an accent here) that was a favourite of mine...gosh 20 odd years ago and yet...only recenly has it inspired me to write about it. When I searched it once more I found that the song was actually inspired by a short story by Poe.....The Fall of the House of Usher and...the name is mentioned in the lyrics so...do songs inspire you...any of you???

    Adele
    Lana Del Rey
    Eminem

    Their lyrics are so inspiring.

This is the videoclip of Ride by Lana Del Rey. It's sooo artistic and inspirational... Lana is quite a great actress, too!

Songs always inspire me to write...
maybe it's a lyric or a tune or just the title

    I have taken inspiration from:
    Demi Lovato
    Adele
    Tulisa
    Beyonce
    Jessie J
    Rita Ora
    LeAnn Rimes

There is so much good music, good song writers, lyricists out there that it is hard not to be inspired by them

I have been inspired by a lot of songs and I can't write in Portuguese or English if I am not listening to a song. Pink Floyd, Cocteau Twins, Adele, Massive Attack, Eurythmics,Ryiuchi Sakamoto, Nomak, Nana Caymmi and so many other singers/ bands are present in my poems.

I've taken inspiration from a lot of music. A LOT.

Lately its been Jack White, The Black Keys, Serj Tankian, Tommy Giles of Between the Buried and Me, and whoever writes lyrics for Mumford and Sons.

Mumford & Sons rock, too... I love their lyrics, but their melodies sound just the same....!!

Their latest Babel album has beautiful lyrics.

Music is my Muse, with or without lyrics

I always turn to Mozart's 40th during periods of profound melancholia
