Andrea text me this morning and said schools are closed, but she does have power as well as her work so she is out working today but it still looks pretty bad. Which is stupid I feel like they should shut it all down but I guess the good thing is she has power...

The winds are causing really high tides for those around water so they are advising people to obviously stay inside if necessary and put a white cloth or anything on your door to alert rescuers if you need help if and when it starts flooding.

Sadly there has been deaths already. I believe somewhere between 10 and 17. So heart breaking :(

The storm is heading inland now...I'm in Ohio and we have closed schools as well. 60 mph winds, hail, and rain...I wouldn't classify that as bad, its workable weather, you just have to hold on to your hat when you go outside. .

Thank you for the updates Chelsey...I watch the news here and worry so much because they never give good news, its so dire to watch...
I noticed Andrea was online a little while ago, so I assumed that she had power, which I guess is good, as the news was reporting loss of power in most on New Jersey and New York... Though I would have thought that they'd close all areas, and not go into work...

It is heartbreaking to hear of the deaths and my heart goes out to everyone in the path and surrounding areas...Keep yourself safe too Chelsey,
and to everyone here affected, my thoughts are with you all

Thank you Tara...it is quite scary out...I'm thankful I'm a nanny and just come here 8 to 5 then head right home today because even though my state isn't getting the worse nor will we get the worse of the storm, but these winds are no joke. They are snapping branches and tearing off power lines...its kind of scary no matter what state your from. EVERYONE in the East coast needs to play it safe, do not drive unless its necessary...

Ugh...this is just rain. I can't imagine when snow comes . Yuck. Although certain states are getting pounded with snow from this.

Last night the news said 5.2 million were without power.. you have a lot of people there in a small area. :/

Some friends on another website I go on said Philly is pretty flooded, or surrounding areas. Another in North Carolina has had snow for two days, though she's out of power now and I don't know how much she got. She's trying to save her battery on her phone for emergencies so its currently off.

Coney Island hospital was on fire. Another hospitals back up generators failed. :/

7 million by estimates this morning, 600,000 in Manhattan alone. NYU hospital back up generators failed, so it had to be evacuated....I cannot imagine how difficult it would have been to evacuate a large hospital, with no elevators, ICU/surgery patient and so forth.
No, Coney Is hospital was not on fire, someone spread a false rumor after seeing a car parked outside in flames.
