Stay out of my sight

  • Hellon

..or did you mean site Larry? I have the notion that you thing you are the number 1 mod here? Ok...the thread started out as usual but...we all know where these threads lead so....why now?...mostly it waits until someone is ready to cut anothers throat or it reaches 100 posts so.....why this one?

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/discussion/topic.html?topic_id=138560

Edit...yeah the OP requested it...I know...normally the mods will look and see if there's anything really offensive in the content but...I can't really see anything here to be honest?

Why are you trying to start up more trouble, Hellon? Just to see the dirt fly? Have you no shame?

Sight is correct. Don't try aggrandizing me. I'm not buying that either.

The thread was locked by request of the one who started it...

    its stated there.

Forget it Hellon no need to start something here

Hellon, I am assuming you didn't catch the obviously playful tone of Larry's post in the locked thread. Yes, he was speaking with some mild parental authority as a Mod, but he didn't come down hard or demand anything. It was meant to be a gentle light hearted reminder to be respectful.

"stay out of my sight" is a very obvious wry remark that old fashioned parents from the 50's/60's used to say to their kids when they wanted them to play nice.

    Play nice.

It's all there in black and white...

Now it was you that went running off to the mods and yes you are the only 2 person I've disliked on this site, I'm proud to say that...

Why do you guys think you are in any way NOT embarrassing yourselves?

Who on this whole thread do you think is wanting to see you continue? Only those who revel in anger, animosity and bloodletting. Let them go to a stock car rally or WWE. Don't be the mindless thugs on here.

HaHa. It's okay with me, Nicko.

Probably you'll grow up to learn that I don't hate you. I never hated anyone on this site. And even those I had problems with in the past, I never hated them.

I think you still have time to be a better man, without misery in your soul to hate youth souls like me :)

I ask God to forgive you.

I checked my inbox, Kevin, probably the PM is stuck. I'm sure it will be in my inbox so soon, though ;)

I' used to have these conversations with Bob some years ago, though he was better at it than you..

The fact that you would laugh at innocent woman and children bleeding to death in front of you is well frankly unbelievable and that you could actually put it to paper on a poetry site is beyond words

Where did I work? In your region Iran, Syria,Jordan, Egypt,Israel, also northern Pakistan, India ive seem a little of the world. I've been through the kyberpass and seen people with arms and legs blown off after fighting in Afghanistan, yes I've been to hospitals and listened to people dying after swallowing flammable vapour and having their lungs burnt out

Yet all you are advocating is more. Your post is reprehensible to say the least

What I don't understand is that others don't find it offensive as well.. Are we all that apathetic ??

    Haha

    * I read something that will summarize everything what I've been trying to say:

-- Bombing for peace is like fu**ing for virginity.

    The End.

Now I'll depart from here happily.. and all comfortable that people understands well.

I've gotta add my voice to those calling for people to calm down. Some of you are never going to get the others to agree (especially in this fashion), whether you're right or wrong.

There is obviously enough war and fighting in the world. We have the opportunity here to create a community that extends over the lines drawn by age, nationality, gender, wealth, and religion. We can try to exist and communicate without dragging in all the bad stuff of the world - especially the stuff that we can't really change on this site. I think it's a step worth taking.

Yes it's all very funny isn't it, for two days I listened to a young woman fight for her life after she had been electrocuted. the shock went though her head and out her leg. she was burnt down to the bone and much of her throat and lungs were burnt away. For two days I listened to her struggle to breath, fight to live with doctors and nurses fighting for her. She died, she could have been a Zionist or Muslim I don't know I didn't care I just wanted her to live..

It saddens me that you have the capacity to laugh at her and want her dead.... No it's more than that...

I would also like to chip in if it is ok,

I have been a member of two clubs on here, both have 20 plus members in them and out of those 40 + members only about 4 or 5 would post on the main forums

    why?

because of senseless discussions such as these which scare these great people away.

I thought this was a poetry site........
sometimes people on here lose sight of that.

My "Pm it dude" comment wasn't aimed at Nicko, as I recall it was aimed at Hellon as the OP. This is turning into another trainwreck of a thread. If Hellon had the good sense to privately PM Larry to discuss the issues between them that would have been better for everyone concerned.

    For you all.

    "Fragile"
    Sting

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
    To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are

Darren, you should've seen it a few years ago...this is light compared to how ruthless we used to be.

Point is, we're slowly (but surely) moving to a different place in our discussions. The more people we have that continue to "hide" from the main boards, the less different interaction we have.

How can we expect anything here to change and not just be politics and religion if no one brings anything new to the table. We need fresh ideas, fresh people to get to know, fresh meat ;) kidding.. but you get my drift.

"As-salamu alaykum is an Arabic greeting often used by Muslims around the world. It literally means what is close to "Peace be upon you," but is considered the equivalent to "hello" or "good day" in English." Soon most eyes will turn to a Thanks Giving of the first breaking of bread with a host which needed no resrvations and eyes will turn to an event which began a common era, an era measured by arabic numbers . Calendars have a history of polititics and religion. Peace to many is "out of sight" In the dawning of the "Age of Aquarius" we are approaching the end of the Maya calendar to remind us that every end has a new beginning . I cannot think of any revolution that happened without Drama . P&Q has no where near the power Facebook has. Some say the Arab Spring started on facebook. With all due respect I would like to end my rant with a quote from a former mod I used to play cat and mouse with . "The only race that matters at the end of the day is the human race"

All are welcome on the main boards. All are welcome to hide from the main boards as well, in which case you deprive us of your insight, and you deprive yourself of our community...
Plenty of threads are safe :) Steer clear of the "unsafe" ones, if you like.

I understand why people get heated in religious discussions. Religion is one of the most readily emotional topics available to us (politics too). That doesn't mean we shouldn't put in the extra effort to stay civil and make points without attacking others.
No one likes to be told to calm down either. It feels patronizing.
So don't calm down for others, calm down because you, yourself know that you should. Take a moment to collect yourself before posting. Your anger will fade, but your words will remain on the site, and the impression they'll leave will be hard to erase once they've been read.
That's something that comes with maturity, not age - the ability to curb your anger, or at least wait out the storm until you can favor reason.

I know when I play the pacifist, some of you find it funny. That's fine. I am a mod though, and that means you should listen to me on this site :)

Hellon, you should've taken the initial post in this thread to PM with Larry. Nicko and Abed (and Rabea?), you should've created a separate thread if you wanted to cast stones about religion. The debate itself is fine, even if some people can't stand debates, but the place the debate was taking place is not fine. Let's not sully celebratory threads.

What's done is done. Let's move on.

Yes Kevin, I did get that it was said in a playful tone...pity neither you or Larry could read that my post was also meant in a playful manner.

Seriously, why would I care if the thread was closed....I hadn't contributed to it in any way. I was making a joke using word play on the word sight/site and....yes, I did realise the proper word had been used. Oh well....once again my sense of humour has fallen on stone faces and deaf ears...maybe I should stick to morris dancing? :)

That's the thing with this damn internet communication stuff... hard to pick up on sarcasm and subtle jokes! Even if you did mean the thread in jest, you probably knew the thread would turn sour. No?

Either way, like I said, what's done is done. The thread was made, everyone got their two cents in, and now we can move on. Phew.

The Hijra (Arabic: , also Hijrat or Hegira, is the migration or journey of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina between June 21st and July 2nd in 622 CE
    Mount of Olives

    Mount of Olives
The Mount of Olives (also Mount Olivet, Hebrew: Ã-- Har HaZeitim; Arabic: , Jebel az-Zeitun) is a mountain ridge east of Jerusalem's Old City in East Jerusalem.[1] It is named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. It is said by believers that Jesus gave an end-time prophecy at this location.[2] The Mount of Olives is associated predominantly with Jewish and Christian traditions but also contains several sites important in Islam.

"Either way, like I said, what's done is done. The thread was made, everyone got their two cents in, and now we can move on."

I miss the funny feuds between Mo and Noir, but we have moved on
I have a strange urge to quote an athiest poet named Oscar Wilde" Life is too important to be taken seriously"
