    Rules/guidelines:

    - Use this thread to post your poems. Don't post anything other than poems in it please. Only start when the hour starts: Poems posted before or after the hour (PnQ time) won't be counted!

    - You can only take one option/time slot.

    - You cannot post a poem until 2 OTHERS member have posted before you. Work it out in your clubs what poems you are doing each.
NOTE: If you want to use your simplify lifeline this round, you can use it so that only 1 person has to post before you, so that way the contest will be achievable with 2 people. Obviously though the more people you have the easier/faster it is, (so long as everybody is organised!)

    - 1 point per poem (out of 50 points total, bonus points for more than 50 poems) 50pts for average quality, 100pts total (before bonuses)

    - Use the 30 or so minutes before to organise who will take what poem and get writing, ready to hit the ground running when the hour starts. Organisation and teamwork is key here.

Once you have done one lap, you start again! Note: Start at prompt 1 and go in order. If you are doing prompt 3, you can't post that until somebody has posted prompt 2.

*Updated times for the challenge (please pick one to use):

Option 1: Sunday, 7.15-8.15 PnQ time
Option 2: Sunday, 15.00-16.00 PnQ time
Option 3 (NEW): Sunday, 19.00-20.00 PnQ time
Option 4: Monday, 19.00-20.00 PnQ time

    Lap: 1 ... Prompt 2. 8 line poem.

Deep in the darkness of abandoned woods,
I hear a voice softly whispering my name.
I feel a cold breeze tickle my neck,
making each hair stand on its end.
I see red eyes peeking sharply through
the rustling hedges in the distance.
I taste fear on my tongue and lose my breath
as I decide to run for my life.

Lap 1... Prompt: 3. Poem based on a movie/film title

    Title: Interview with a Vampire
    Reversed Haynaku

    Warm to the
    throat, I
    drink...

    like raspberry liquor,
    Yet; human
    bottle.

    A frenzy begins,
    heart beats
    irregular.

    Drained of life,
    Your body
    falls...

    taking your breath,
    murdered my
    suffering.

    Lap 1... prompt 4... Tanka

    Children's laughter roars,
    chasing neighbours through the park
    ecstatic with joy.
    Innocent minds run care free
    with freedom of sweet childhood.

Lap:1 prompt: 5. abab cdcd rhyming scheme, 2 verses

    Title: Home

    From grace i fall,
to the fire of the devil...
    crashed into a charcoal wall.
Wings of an angel battered...and I revel.

    Dripping with sweat and blood,
hell raised fires cleansed my soul...
Homes calling, ignorance plays 'cause I could.
Down here in the grunge is where I feel whole.

    Lap 1 - prompt 6 - spring

Sun beaming atop the snow covered hill
Peering through clear glass windows and
Resulting in a glow of warmth.
Ingiting the forests with their colour again as
New flowers bloom and leaves begin to return
Growing in the nurture of their spring.

Lap:1 prompt: 7. Include the word 'Perfume'

    Title: love hold

    Eyes lock.
    Butterflies wake.
    Flushed in cerise; I smile.
Your embrace holds me to you like
    gravity, drawing me
    closer to your
    hearts core.

Gracefully choking on your perfumed skin, that's raising my temperature.
Sweet beads run down your skin...like the condensation on our steamed window. I'm in love tonight.

Lap 1 prompt 8 free verse

Months have passed by as slow as a broken watch
and each second that doesn't tick
    takes another drop of blood
    from your leaking heart.

Imagine if this blood could be replaced
with the tears drops from the eyes
of those who will weep for you.

Imagine if love could cure and heal
    the heart from all diseases
that this organ may be faced with.

But alas I've wished so many nights
and prayed to find a miracle
which never seems to find us.

All that we have is the precious seconds
that I can no longer hear tick by
but instead feel them slip away
from the inside of our hearts.

Lap:1 prompt: 9. Wild card (pick any theme)

    Title: Passionate Home

Once the cradle falls, its your
    niche in life... that separates
    crowds of duplicates from the
    emerging unique...

Affirmations cause pulsating ink to ice skate.

Frozen blank page, as pens grace
    recreates the flow of an
    eight. Signifying my souls
    engraved birth mark; vast.

    Spiritually connected with
    pen... flowing
    ink.
    Resurrecting
    irritable emotions,
    trusting thy heart.

    "Almond lingers, whilst
    nectar pours; my pink blossom
    yielding to stings."

    Thankful that nature
    humbles and en-riches an
    inquisitive mind.
    Nurturing a beaten heart,
    giving awe to projection.

    I
    share a
    passion with
    others. Poems
    string us together;
    silk spun lines with letters
    inked from the heart. Restricted
boundaries penned a need to fight,
love for freedom and all alike... Our
eternal warmth of a family home.

    Lap 1: prompt 10 .. about/to celeb

    Dear Marishka Hartigay

You chose your career because you believed you belonged on this path.
Your talent has lead you to many different routes that have helped you to become who you now are.
But your latest appearance has won over the hearts
of countries far and wide. Behind the scenes when your character gets put in the wardrobe and your own shoes are put on, you carry the heart that you have grown to know and made others grow to love.
Through acting out scenes of helping innocent victims who have been subjected to sexual crimes, you have developed empathy for real victims worldwide.
And with this empathy you got creative and set up a chairty known as The Joyful Heart Foundation which makes jewellery imprinted with the word Fearlessness to represent the bravery of the souls who have fought for survival.
You have taken your work home with you and it has become a bigger part of your life than you ever would have imagined it to be.

And this is why you have won the hearts of so many people who watch you on screen and admire the beautiful and compassionate person that you are.
