Listen people, if you're going to give somebody a 1 on their poem and not even have the guts to justify it, you may as well go stab yourself with a rusty knife. Waste of flesh.

Sorry, I havent posted here in a while, I just did and I was sure the poem was satisfactory until SOMEONE went and gave it a 1 without a comment. Pisses me off because there goes my rating as a poet. This is crap..If you wanna see the poem, it's called "Hello, Darkness."

right on natalie. obviously your poem sucks if someone rated it a one so it doesnt matter if they dont comment. you know damn well if they comment you'll go to their name and rate all their poems as one too...advice:write better poems

Mandy, that comment was out of order. Poetry appreciation is such a fickle thing, i personally think that the voting system should be abolished as it's impersonal, and no one that i've come across in here has the abilities to accurately assign a simple numbered estimation to a poem.

i totally agree with you, i dont put poems up ne more because there feelings that are in the inside and they shouldnt be rated.. i put up my qoutes, thats it, well sorry to hear about your poem, some one was just jelous that cant write as well as you can.

Nicole, i can understand where you're coming from, its frustrates me too... but there's not much you can do about it... except let ppl know how you feel... but next time i would suggest calming down first... so you dont come across.... the way you did...
THe whole write a better poem thing... thats crap... sometimes there are people on here who just randomly vote ones without explaining or even reading... so just use that to fuel yourself into writing an even better one... to show all of these ppl how good you really are...
"bad" ppl are always gonna be there, all throughout your life... you've just got to suck it up... and show them that you're better than them.... thats all...

Don't leave no damn post on my poems about how you didn't appreciate my rude comment. It wasn't a rude freaking comment. All that damn whining and complaining you're doing about your damn rating is silly. Yea, it does suck that all these little gits get mad when they see talent better than theirs but to be part of this site you got to deal with it. It's a package deal I guess. HunBun830 is my sister and I told her the same damn thing. Get over it...little hookers on here WILL vote ones if you disagree with them or write something better than theirs. It's just the way teeny boppers are!! You know the talent you have and the people that are honest and not so damn silly will give you feedback...USE THAT. That's where the truth is, in what people comment.

Natalie dear, if you dont want me thinking your lacking in the area of a good social life, then maybe YOU should make a better impression on me. Afterall, I am just a stranger. I will think what I want, as you will. I'm not going to go and rate your poems horribly, I dont use personal issues as a basis for how I rate people. Maybe you do? Cant say the same for myself.

Thanks to those who understand me. I'm very much so over the issue, but it still just upsets me a little. I know now, how overreacting this post does in fact seem. Very sorry for that, I just wish that a little change could be made to the site so that when people rate, they must comment. Even if it's a "this sucks" it'll suffice, because that way, we can identify the blatantly stupid person. Maybe I'll make another post suggesting this in the correct forum. Cheers, yall.

Why the hell would I have to make a good impression on YOU. I don't even know you and frankly I could care less what the hell you or anyone else thinks of me. I have plenty of friends and I am not on this site to make new ones. If I was the type of person to be so damn silly and vote poems based on what happens on the discussion boards I would have already done it. However I only vote on good poems and never vote anything less than a five. If I don't like I don't vote and I never vote to be spiteful. I am not 15 nor do I act like it. I am a grown woman and don't have time to waste dwelling on what people think of me.

What we're doing isn't exactly a debate...but to each their own. You know, I dont enjoy this and I'm perfectly aware that you're acting as if you do to make yourself seem more coolheaded, but believe me, that technique is overused. i suggest you go out with your many friends to have a good laugh instead of messing with someone on a site... where attitude actually does mean something.

I'll have to go with both sides of the argument. If you only write a poem to see what kind of rating your going to get then you shouldn't write poems at all. But I do like it when people comment on my poems. It tells me where I went wrong or right.

Ahh, i really must have screwed myself there. I really, honestly dont write poems for the sake of some rating. It just bothers me that someone would put down a bad rating for something that really came from my heart without justification, you know?

Thanks for the comment on my poem, though it was a bit uncalled for. You shouldn't dislike a poem because it's not the type of poem you would write. That isn't the point that poets make when they write. They dont aspire to write like everyone else.
