The game we play

It is so, when people disclose their desire to be with us to us, we take them for granted. We play the hard to get game; we, out of the blue, do not want them any more. They suddenly become like solved mysteries to us.
This is a game we play, a safe play! Maybe because we feel if we let them know that the feeling is mutual we would lose our upper hand. We guess they are like us in that way.
But in real it is not them who are the losers of this game, it is us, because we deny ourselves the presence of those who really are in tune to who we are.

We force them out of our lives for the sake of our fear of losing them!!

The only way this could be more poignant would be if it were in the singular first person.
    It is soul baring.
