I stayed out. I don't regret it because she's forever on a plateau untouchable forever. I smile with genuine warmth everytime I think of her.

What you do though is something only you can choose to do.

It depends on if the girl is your friend or not.

Let him know how you would treat him, how you would love him, how you would do other things to him ;)

On a more serious note, if you think he is happier with her then leave it alone.

Why does it matter if the girl is a friend or not? Do her feelings matter any less if you know her or not?

    Yes, its a loyalty issue.

    Fair enough.

You are either loyal to your feelings or you are loyal to your friends feelings, you dont have to have loyalty for someones feelings you dont know at the expense of yourself. His feelings matter as well, so if he would be happier with her, then leave him alone. That's my logic.

ok.... that's fair enough... i'll stay outta it... i wouldn't want someone to do that to me...

My faith in humanity is bolstered *grins*

In all seriousness, if you honestly think she is bad for him and that you can do a better job then tell him that much.
