Is it JUST ME???

Okay so i have my own little world in here in PQ but is it so that hardly anybody does a collaboration anymore with someone that they do not know? i mean i've done collabs a bunch of times with poets i've come to call friends and family so is it just me that we don't take a risk to make a poem with another poet we have yet to understand?

My personal reasons for not doing so are because I'm very anal when it comes to poetry. I dont like choppy, unstructured poetry. I feel ( and rememeber this is just MY opinion) collabing with someone who writes way differently than me, someone who I dont know, it can make the poem mesh really bad, if at all. So I stick to people I know and can vibe off of, someone who knows my structure and I know theres, which means we'll generally come out with an amazing piece.

Thank you! i do that too and although i'm confortable doing the poem that way i would love to get to do poetry in which i know NOTHING about but that's just me and don't worry i don't get mad for anyone's opinion after all i'm just curious!

I feel like I'm like Chelsey in that way. I've only done one collaboration and it was with someone that I knew very well and we also had a very similiar poetry style. I think it would be pretty hard if two very different people got together and tried to come up with something, especially if they knew nothing/very little about eachother.

While that is VERY true is it in our natures to try to do something we have never done before? just curious i've done collaborations with some that didn't have my same style of writting but it was for us just a poem to do together not really make it something to stand there perfect in everyway for us it was just for fun and i guess doing collaborations SHOULD be fun in my opinion but that's just me! :)

I think Chelsey & Tony would make a bamf collab. :D

I have collabed in the past but don't really do it much now.

My problem is 99% of my poems are 'spit and post'
I write everything in about three minutes and rarely re-visit.
Now combine that with somebody who likes to spend a couple of days crafting a poem and I lose my train of thought.

Im a Lone Ranger when it comes to collabs. Well, I think I did one once, after that collab, I fired Tonto, hehe. Just kidding, it was, nice... I think.

I'm like you Darren i'm not too keen on taking forever on a poem sure for me it will be JUST a day to see what i CAN change it and make it better but yes i normally write it and done but mine takes about 20mins since it takes me a while to write poetry
