WHY won't my hideous avatar change?

I tried changing it three times........ is it a problem with me, or the site?

It says it's changed, and then it stays as the previous one! Argh!

Also, there is no way to retrieve a self-deleted account, is there...?

It takes a little bit to update. Sometimes you have to refresh.. log out.. log in... refresh.

then when I log back on my picture is shown along with the new pictures of everyone else.
