Well I have never seen my people so angry since dictatorship.Things are pretty out of contro herel, we are sick and tired of what the government has been doing. We need investments in education and other public services but the government is only interested in The World Cup and in The Olympic Games.I will survive. I have survived the dictatorship. I do hope things change for better. Some people are worried about me and I am here to tell you I am alright.Let's fill the world with Poetry/ Art. It is what has kept me alive in bad times and good times.Love you all. |

Karla do you have an update for us on how this is going? I can't seem to find a whole lot of news about it, and even then I don't really trust what news sources say anymore :/ |

Things are still pretty out of control and people are still angry. There have been riots / protests all over the country and due to that some changes have happened: bus fares fell by twenty cents and some corrupted politicians were arrested.Last Friday our Mayor closed down the schools and sent us and the students home because of protests in my district. I've heard the whole country will stop tomorrow. People will cross their hands instead of going to work. Don't know whether it's true or not.I am still worried.I hope this country can be different but after so many years of dictatorship, we are still crawling. It takes time to learn how to fly when you still don't know where your wings are.Thank you Britt. We are okay here.Keep us in your prayers. |
