treat it like a story. every good story has a beginning a middle and an end. You could try and work out what all of those are before you start writing the poem.

The ending has to tie the whole meaning of your poem together in a profound way. Often times the ending is when the true meaning "dawns" on the reader. Alot of times it has to do with the title, because it is one of the most memorable parts of the poem if it is pulled off right.

The most irritating thing about about a poems ending that I often see is that the flow is messed up. If the poems flow gets cut off by an ending the ending automatically sucks. It should end so that the rhyme or thought doesnt seem unfinished.

And what do you mean by "technique?"
