    An Eclipsed Life

This poem carries an ethical message I've been fighting for in the midst of my social circles for a long time. I even asked influential people to talk about it in their sermons and lectures, but nothing really makes a great effect in people's minds and hearts as a poem like this! The way the poet describes slander and gossip is very accurate and the imagery fits perfectly in each stanza, continuing on the same line of metaphors. A person who has this bad habit and read this poem can see the huge effect words have on people, the fear and agony it causes and how gruesome and hideous an act it is. All this is achieved through simple words and appropriate spacing.

    Poetic Love
    by Love Fallacy (7)

Writing this poem in pentameter makes it so melodious, every poem I read after it felt bland because of its melody! It is also a great way to convey the title of the poem, instead of stating the obvious in the poem. This is a creative way on conveying the message of the poem. The words, also simple have a lot of emotion in them and the melody of the poem added shows how exciting new love is and how it makes the heart beat and happiness and smiles a daily occurrence. The ending however shows us that this love that makes us feel this way is in fact everlasting, the love of a friend, which is a very joyous thought... love can last forever.

    Crying means Breathing
    by Everlasting (10)

This poem shows us the reality deep in our hearts, how we -no matter how old we grow- need affection and love at times when we feel sad. How we always need a loving person by our side to tell us that everything is ok. We can see from this poem how stubborn we are in admitting that need, how painful it is to let others see our vulnerability and how soothing and relieving it is when we do admit it. I just love the ending of this poem, because I've been through this situation many times, always longing for my mothers warmth.

It also means that everyone knows 3 people whom this judge is not.

Thank you to the stalwart who stayed in there.

Judges remember your term is through the END of September.

[back when the site started, the winners were often determined by only Janis &/or Dainz.]
