# 1The Hidden Sword
By Baby Rainbow - 7 + 7 = 14
My icy shadow rises from
the cold mist of yesterday's defeat.
An icy fog fills the troubled sky,
declaring war across the land.
Defeated I once was,
but never again shall I be.
Judgement looms in the eyes of the enemy,
staring into my iris to determine
my next move. Strike or defend,
when shall I draw out my sharpest sword
that remains hidden from the human eye?
And whose eyes can truly see
the fighter that lives within?
The forgotten warrior of out existence;
our instinct of survival.
So as my icy shadow rises
from the blue mist of yesterday's defeat,
I declare a battle and here by claim
tomorrow's victory...
...for victory shall be mine.

#2 Lies
By Narph - 10 + 3 + 10 + 10 + 4 +10 + 10 +7 +10 +10 =84
My mother never taught me to tell lies.
She didn't cultivate vines behind my back, never
taught me how to twist my fingers into leafy tendrils,
index over middle, fiction over fact, cross your
heart hope to die this is the truth so help me, no,
my mother taught me most lies are so dark
they don't have names unless they're white,
that truth can't be stretched only broken
into halves, that fallacies feeds souls like water
feeds empty stomachs, you go hungry,
we go hungry, we're all hungry, no.
My mother taught me never to tell lies.
But I do.

#3 Stalk

Silently stalking
my prey, I watch for weakness
and it's time to pounce

#4 Hourglasses & Sandcastles
By Poet on the Piano- 10 + 10+8 = 28
I will always contradict you,
the ice forming on top of every
sidewalk you ever built, dream
you ever sketched, disease you
ever overcame.
And dear, your heart won't take
damage lightly, for I will be
fifty degrees below zero
as these eyes freeze your blood
and these lips send a scorching
peppermint kiss of poison.
You cannot mate with time and
expect to not fade away...
You will not live to see any rests,
any commas, periods, truck stops,
or emergency pullovers; I am the
force that no one can glide across.
Toned legs will give out while your
throat wheezes for air because
the weather keeps crowding you,
dirt and ocean and glaciers a massive
attack upon your name.
Do not look for my hand at the end
of this course, love,
for it would be better to dig your
own grave from here.

#5 What the Hell Are You?
By Larry-10 +10 + 4 + 10 +10 + 3+ 6 +10 = 63
Sometimes being point
just gets you killed
that much quicker
sniped by some alien
in town for a little game.
It's a jungle in here
with unknown predators
who may be on your
own team undetected
waiting to pounce and kill.
Watching your fellows
strung up like cattle
convinces you of one thing:
cool down, camouflage,
be the beast that lies in wait.

#6 Warrior
By Courageous Dreamer- 5 + 6 + 10 +9 = 30
Eyes of fury and frost
will forever taunt you,
weakening your strength
to persevere, while whispers
of secrecy will lead in misdirection
while I tangle myself in a divine
shield of barbed wire, untouched -
for I'm a warrior in disguise.

#7 Speck

I feel like being the distraction
keeping you up nights, vow
to empty my pockets of you and make
the drive familiar. I wanted to water my eyes
with salty perspiration, kick my muscles
into shape and leave you behind.
I want to feel like I can keep this up
forever, want to want you gasping for air.
I need you to be the speck on the horizon
when I look over my shoulder. I need
to be out of earshot when you call
my name.

#8 Kumbhakarna
By abracadabra - 5 + 5+7 = 17
I came over the mountain
like a bear
like a cloud
like a landslide
Take your pick
but I came over the mountain
Let me tell you how
the birds flew off
how the leaves rained down
and the ground shook as
I came over the mountain
You would think
something had happened
something that had perhaps made
the gods themselves shudder
Well, what happened was this
I rose and I came over the mountain
and that was all

#9 For the chop
By Nicko -10 +10 +5 +10 +4 + 10 +4 +10 +10 = 73
Slip sideways quietly to the rear, outa sight outa mind
"Feck that", Loudly mouthy up front, to the fore
In bold, in thick, in black, WINNER tattooed on their back
And front
It covers their face
Or spruce like, clean cut in the buff, shinny, spiffing
But so much for appearances, hey what!
With curly dilemmas that run like rawhide
Round and round the holding pens, 2 x 2
Like arse branded cattle off to slaughter
Which one, is it me?
Sod that
But no deigning, at least one is for the bullet
So then where are your so called friends, hey?
No doubt to cut and paste snort and holler
Push the weakest, push the meekest
Up, up, up, there you go, up to the front!
Slip a knife under Adams last rib
Up under your kilt to touch your beating heart
Then kicked off the page to lie bleeding
Left to write forgotten memoirs

#10 Vow of a Survivor
By The Huntress-10 +10 + 8 +10 +6 +10 +6 +10 +10 = 80
My drawer's a mass grave;
I've got an history. Always been
more of a worrier than a warrior.
My eleven-year-old self left me
more than I can bear.
This isn't about seeing ghosts;
grandma at the edge of my bed.
This is about hair falling out
despite the youth of ribbons;
skin tattoed by wrinkles
despite the softness of hands.
But I'm still alive.
I haven't lost my sehnsucht;
I see ink flowing in patterns
resemblant of palm lines,
my words will nestle
inside ribcages and
I shall tear you
from inside out.
I shall comb my hair,
I shall wash my face,
I shall be a survivor.

I am in it to win it,
This game we play.
I won't stop 'til I get there,
I'll keep going day by day.
I will form allies and bonds
And before you know it,
They'll be broken in two.
I'm not gonna blow it.
And I know you will see,
That by the end of this,
I'll be standing, waving while
You watch me smile.
I think I've made it clear by now,
That I'm in it to win it.
I'm not gonna stop,
Not until I've finished it.
You see this face?
I am ready to pounce
Let me get this straight,
Be prepared to be trounced.
I will not stop 'til I get there.
I'll be well known for betrayal.
I realise it's cruel but one thing
You should know, I do not intend to fail.
Sadly I cannot waste my time,
This has to come to an end.
But just watch your back,
Dear old friend...

I'm the fox in the shed, the wolf in sheep's clothing, the prime minister who claims his actions are for the greater good. Guileful and fraudulent in such an artistical manner. I can twist that knife within your ribcage whilst I have a smile plastered upon my face and ask if there's anything I can do to help ease your suffering.
I can wriggle my way out of almost anything with a smile or two, a well placed word here and there and all the while my mind is
working overtime plotting your defeat. I'm the type of person
that Schadenfreude was phrased for. Look in the dictionary and
you'll see my picture next to the definition of unscrupulous.
