Beauty

I think it's sad In today's society how we see beauty. We are judged by how we look and not whats on the inside. I saw a post on my Facebook today where there was a women who was toned and had muscles like a guy and there were a lot of negative comments about it. I do not understand wh. I know we all have our own opinion about beauty but still...

Also. Does make-up really make people beautiful or are we just doing it to live up to society's standards of is and is not beautiful. I would love to hear what y'all think of either topic or just beauty in general.

There are few big subject you put forward here, One is sociological the other is an aesthetic question.
Academic have all different opinion of how these two are connected (( beauty is in the eyes of beholder)) or even not connected at all (( beauty and aesthetic values are something we born with))
But one thing we know for sure: beauty in concern to human being is the matter of habit. For example if you take a look at the "Greek's prehistorical Venus goddess status, they are nothing comparable to their mythological Venus statues or also with our norms of beauty, nowadays.
The most important part of your post is about how superficially we measure and value the personal beauty; how "make up" is the way we paint out side to cover the shortcomings and how this makes us to be shallow and forget about our inner beauty and even our true exterior beauty in that matter.

There are lots of thing I could talk about this but we'll see how it goes
    good topic

Lol hellon. Good! You should think you're beautiful.

And thanks. It gets me fired up. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I think it's sad how the world goes about it. Ibbelieve there are a lot of places in the world you have to be beautiful to fit in or get in. And that is just disgusting. For me inner beauty is the one that counts. :).

Haha the beauty is the mask we 're wearing, like in Hellon's avatar.

You are right though. Don Juan said: sometimes beauty is the biggest curse a person could have.

This is a touchy subject for me... I just wrote on this very matter...

My heart is beautiful... I am the one who has finally decided to see how beautiful I truly am.

Mr. Real Meaning... I am curse!! lol How shallow does that sound?

hmm.. on a serious answer, beauty is whatever we want to see as such. However, the real beauty is not what we see but what we feel. And of course, there is an exception for everything.

Do we really mask beauty though? And maple I am sorry this is a hard subject for you. I think everyone's heart is beautiful in their own way. People can be nasty in the way they act. That is what makes them less beautiful.

The way we perceive ourselves is what matters right?

I think if people are beautiful on the inside or for your heart then people will love you for you.

In my opinion, is not beauty that matters because
beauty is like a cliche that everyone constantly tries to make their own but not everyone can do that. Though I have to admit that beauty is the type of cliche that never gets old.

Also in my opinion, is not how we perceive ourselves. We can perceive ourselves as the most beautiful or as the ugliest, yet vice versa other people can perceive ourselves as the most beautiful or as the ugliest person in earth, and then when they tell us how they perceive us... our perception of ourselves may get affected, so perceiving loses its importance. By perceiving I mean in both instances, perceiving in terms of what is inside and how we look.

So in my opinion, it's not physical beauty nor perception but realizations that are important. The realizations that make us see what matters in life, now that is real beauty.

If only people could take a little bit of their time to contemplate life, they all would be as beautiful as the realization that nothing really matters in life other than to live and learn from it.

    EDIT:

----I think if people are beautiful on the inside or for your heart then people will love you for you.

^ I've learnt that people don't love us because of our "heart" or because we are beautiful inside and out, there's more to love than we can even grasp. I just know that there are a few things in our life that we must not go looking for those are love and death. They come whenever they want to. ( whenever they come, just like that )

That was a very good point Lucero. I especially agree with your point when you say that living life makes us beautiful. I think people will judge us no matter what we do or who we are... that's what people do. Thank you for you voice though :). I also agree that love isa huge thing beyond our thinking. People always know what they are looking for in a person or say they say. But I think love just is or is not. We cannot choose love it just finds us.
