    Welcome contestants!!

For our Redemption Island survivors. You still have a chance to stay in the game.....Britt, Colm, and Amy, here is your challenge... due Saturday night. (please do let me know if you need til Sunday, I will be generous due to Thanksgiving)

The TRIO of you will be writing a Triolet :) Good luck!

Your topic should be on Neglect/isolation

    Triolet
A Triolet is a poetic form consisting of only 8 lines. Within a Triolet, the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines repeat, and the 2nd and 8th lines do as well. The rhyme scheme is simple: ABaAabAB, capital letters representing the repeated lines.

Make writing a Triolet more challenging! Make each line 8 syllables in length (4 metrical feet), written in iambic tetrameter (the more common way), or try it in pentameter (English version) where each line only has 10 syllables (5 metrical feet).
    Example #1:
My Heart Residing in Thy Chest

In response to Shelly's, "The Indian Serenade".

For, break it shall and so it must
My heart residing in thy chest
When placed in care of lover's trust
For, break it shall and so it must
    Passion's ashes returned to dust
This lonely heart is laid to rest
For, break it shall and so it must
My heart residing in thy chest

    Example #2:
    In Mourning Black

In response to "All in Green" by e.e. cummings

Fair maid, clad all in mourning black
Rides off upon her golden steed.
A mocking gesture: heart she lack'd.
Fair maid, clad all in mourning black,
Sheds not a tear and turns her back
With no regrets for wicked deeds.
Fair maid, clad all in mourning black,
Rides off upon her golden steed.

    ----------------

    TRIBES ONE AND TWO:

Since you evil doers voted for your own tribe mates to be sent to their death, enjoy this form.

You have til Tuesday Night to get these in! :) Good luck!

    Monody
A monody is a poem in which one person laments another's death.

    Example:
    The Sea's Handmaiden

She often walked along the shore
In windy weather or in fair,
But now my love shall stroll no more,
Nor will the breeze play with her hair.

I did not even know her name
When she came to me that summer day.
A wild thing that I could never tame,
But all the same, I thought she'd stay.

I've lost her, my love, to the sea
Her footsteps fading in the sand.
If only the waves would return her to me,
So we might stroll hand in hand.

Shame Chels...just a suggestion...what about letting outsiders in? You know, give people who haven't taken part so far 24 hours or so to submit something...not sure what but..just...something to generate more interest..just a thought that...may help?

My challenges have all been the same too Chels. I think it is the longer ones, because people are genuinely free at the time of the first round, and then something comes up as the challenge moves on. Plus, this is quite close to Christmas, I know I have hardly been on the laptop this week.

    Hellon's suggestion might work?

Thats a good idea Hellon...I can leave this challenge open for a few more days and see if I receive anymore from others who werent originally a part of this!

We use to complete longer challenges :/ Abeds Hunger games, each round we had to wait for 3 judges to give their comments and scores, but youre right that wasnt around christmas.

Usually the entire challenge lasts a month, anything over that and people either lose interest, forget, or don't have time :(

So just let this be open & the final round, winner takes the island.

Well I already warned everyone in the beginning this challenge is different and can take a few months, people obivously didnt consider that when signing up.

I need this to be open because I need jury members when people get voted off :) if not. I'll just let this be the last round and everyone can vote for the three I have.

Hey Chels sorry it didn't work out, Its always hard to get people to submit on time, judge on time etc

But that's no excuse really, you have a right to be very disappointed

It is the Island of Chelsey Moreau and with an evil glare at all who shared in this terrible demise,
the Host has spoke and will judge those who ran away with her plans of Fortune!

Wharthogs they'll be,petrified trees and newt tails!

A failed attempt at redemption foiled.

Their soggy soiled knees, will ail them.

    Lessons learned about Holidays,
    means people are weak!

    Disappointed I would be also.
    Forgive those who tried!

    Peace and Blessings
