How Many People Poems Have Been Plagiarized, Stolen, By Others O

    I Noticed, while doing some Google searching that some of our p&q poets poems have shown up elsewhere online and not placed there by the authors of the poems or with their authorization. I think, it'a disgusting practice, for most poets works being stolen don't know it's happening or has happened. Now, I know my work is often stolen and misrepresented as someone else's but when I see it happening to those unaware and see someone's who's posted poems are all other peoples, it just upsets me, and I find it to be shameful. How many of you have encountered this practice or has had it happen to them, and what do you think of this practice?

    To use my new language, it sucks. Mine have been taken and so has many, many others on the site and some who have left the site. We none like and have gone to great lengths to get them removed from various sites. In some cases it is a long drawn out process and the worst part is that once you get one poem or one site to remove the poems, they show up on another site. I gave up and have adopted the attitude that wow, my poems are so good that other people have to use them to impress others and make themselves feel good.

    I agree with Sylvia !!

    It's really annoying and heartbreaking to see people trying to take credit for the words that poured out of my heart and soul... however I choose to post them on the internet, and thats the risk I take in doing so... it's wrong, but it's very difficult to stop it from happening.

    There was one time when I caught someone posting a poem of mine words by words on the same site lol

    "My solution was simple;
    The 9mm won't strait to the temple
    Bang, bang, bang"
    Got to love Ice Cube hahaha

    But to be serious dear Robert, I have never checked if I was plagiarized and quite frankly I don't care for I know that the internet is a strange entity and I don't have any control over it. Don't get me wrong Robert, I don't
    approve it, but neither see a real loss to get upset about some of our poems being "copy and paste" here and there!

    Since we are talking about "cyber thievery" I want you all to ask yourself how many times did you download a song, program, movie and so on using P2P applications?

    I'm use to people posting my work on the internet representing it as their own. I take it sort of as an honor, But I found this one spot one of my poems was on, posted by one person, and researching the poems they had posted against the site (poems-and-quotes), I discovered that many of their poems -at least the one I check where poems directly from the site and of p&q poets. I just found that outrageously egregious. When I thought it was just my poem, it was not that big of deal, because I'm use to it and almost expect it, But when it was a mass plagiarism, that was just too much. If you want to check for one your poems. here's the address. The first address is the profile page the second one are the poems;

    I was plagiarized too. It sucks a big time.Guess it was one of the things that drove me away from poetry.

    While we have little control over the vast web, it helps to protest each time you find a plagiarism.

    I have found many sites take it seriously.

    By the same token, please continue to report problems on our own site. All of you can be assured that we do take it seriously.
