Life and coincidences

    Strange title I know...

    anyways does anybody have any strange coincidences or random happenings that they would like to share?

    Here is mine and the reason why I opened the thread;

    When you think of the humble banjo it conjures images of toothless hillbillies or rednecks
    (apologies if I have offended any of PnQs hillbillies or rednecks or indeed anybody who is toothless)

    In an act of randomness two weeks ago I purchased a banjo. I have played bass guitar for a number of years now and fancied trying my hand at something new. My friends and family have made comments about the film 'deliverance' and find it amusing that I have chosen that particular instrument.
    But Hey
    Poetry in some circles is seen as a bit gay
    (apologies again to any gays or indeed poets on this site) but I think we like to make a stand against that view.

    I have been practising every day now and it is a difficult instrument to play, but here is the point of my tale;

    Last night one of my back teeth fell out!!

    I am not making it up.

    now over to you;

    any similar tales of randomness or coincidence?

    I had a friend that disappeared and had threatened suicide. I prayed nightly for them and prayed that somehow I there would be a sign that they were still alive and okay. After several weeks of prayers, one morning I found a bird feather in my living room next to my computer desk. My friend was a lover of birds and nature.

    Several of our mutual friends also had strange experiences involving birds. BTW the friend did not commit suicide and did return after a considerable time.

    This is one of the many similar experiences I have had and I accept them without being afraid of them as I was when they first occurred.

    Well, a few months ago, I told my friend that I would lone him money when it snowed in hell, and here at Ft. Hood, we often call it hell. about 3 weeks ago, it snowed. The night before, neither of us knowing snow was on its way, (the forecast didn't even mention rain) he called asking for 20 bucks for gas........... imagine my surprise when sure enough, the next day, there was white stuff on the ground..... Still waiting for him to pay me back

    All my life, as far as I remember I was a fan of a Persian Poet named A. Shamloo. I've read all his works when I was a teen and known most of them by heart. I never seen anybody who could memorize this much poems. They all happened by their own I never tried to memorize them except maybe some, later in my life.

    The story :
    I was incarcerated in Texas for reciting poetry out loud in Christmas.( I used to go to trance with them) My ex came to bail me out from Canada and as my request she brought one of His poetry books, in which on our way to a beautiful cottage in Sedona Arizona, that she rented for us, (going from hell to heaven) I opened and came across a poem, maybe the only one, that I had never read it before or every time I wanted to read, something stopped me, until then.
    The poem started like this:
    " On my shoulder is sitting a dove
    that freshen its throat
    from your words."
    and he repeats this, few times. The poem is so beautiful that I wept. Exactly the same time we arrived at the resort. In front of the office, here we go, I saw standing a big statue of a saint, with a dove sitting on his shoulder.

    Http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/26/vatican-peace-doves-attacked-by-crow-and-seagull-seconds-after-being-released-4277939/

    Pope releases a dove of peace...which is then attacked by a seagull, and a nasty-looking crow. What does it portend?

    My coincidence is that a snow white dove is in my heart ,soul & mind is what lead me to poetry
    not to mention an attempt to get very close to an entity that seemed at the time, just out of my reach.

    It seemed to be a turning point to the providence (coincidences?) in my life
    "Now what Lord, I asked in belief I knew I had begin to experience sweet relief Follow My way don't slide from My path Give up all the bad habits that you have Lord forgive me I repented each day You're not far from victory I heard Him say Going to prison, I soon went to school I found friends in church were the ones that where cool The Holy Spirit became my best friend We laugh, and talk, and our love never ends" C. Baker.
