Happy Anniversary to meeeee :)

10 years ago today, 2/20/04 I registered here at PnQ...I was 12 yrs old, in 7th grade, didnt know a thing about writing, but all the girls were trying to write their crushes poems. Thats what got me Googling poetry and sites I can join to help me write something to my future crush.

I have made many friends that have came and went, met THREE people in person from this site, set a record for winning 3 weeks in a row on the weekly contest. It amazes me how far Ive come as a writer, but more importantly

my passion for writing has opened my eyes to many beautiful things. I view nature, gestures, behavior, words, music, all differently then before. Because I want to pen things, my eyes are opened to the beauty in all things and my mind is constantly questioning how I can write something I saw deeper than its seen by others.

I want to say a huge thank you to this community. To those of you who have helped me in writing and even in life in general. To those who have challenged me, encouraged me, it has helped me in more ways than one.

Ive never left this site. I still have my original profile and though sometimes when I see this site die, I also get the feeling of wanting to leave, but Ive always and probably will always stay.

You guys are awesome!! Now who wants to celebrate my anniversary with PnQ to some cake and dancing?! :) woooot.

Congrats! PnQ is a second home, isn't it?

Wish I knew when I first joined the site, but I was creating so many accounts at the time (some suspended), that I couldn't tell ya. Think it was around 2004/2005, so I'm probably brimming on 10 years too...
    A decade. Wow.

Aw, congrats Chels! 10 years is definitely worth celebrating and I'm so glad you could and are sharing your voice on here... otherwise I wouldn't have met you lol! PnQ really brings people together who we never would have known before, and reignites that passion for writing.

    10 years already?

    I'm old :-(

Chels, I remember you as a 13 yr old sweetheart.. full of questions and eager to learn about Poetry. You hated formed poetry and would always give me a mouthful of NO's when I mentioned it.. but a few years later.. you started to grow and learn and write formed.. made my heart smile.

    I adore you <3

    Happy Anniversary sweet one :-)

You are special Chels...staying on here consistently for 10 years says it all.

I have no idea when it was...we were both in RTVW if I remember and you wanted to do a loop poem with me...I wasn't keen because I just don't like letting people inside my brain and visa verse but you were pretty persistent so I caved in LMAO! I have no idea what the title was and...I've deleted my account a whole lot since then...maybe you have it somewhere within the mega poems you have on your account...too many for me to go through :)

  • Chelsey

    SO DANDY
12 years old, I do not blame you you did not know any better.
From the members who responded and from what they said I deduced that you're the saint of mediocrity. (If you do not understand watch the movie " Amadeus ")
You had such an unexposed neck, that was not ever questioned by the blades of injustice chopping up all the swans' necks, where, only turtle ones could live on.
Dear your beauty is too unblemished to my taste, :
To be honest I do not find an scar-less face esthetically acclaimed.
you carried 10 years of unblemished history, but I celebrate the account of those who did not survive but they still managed to return.

Can you just hit me with the Real Meaning of this post...I'm somewhat lost thus far?

  • ddavidd

If Christ did not stand up to tyranny he would have never been hurt the way he did, he could have survived.
If Ibrahim did not break idols, he could have avoided the fire. There are members who were here then and the only reason that they are not anymore, is because they did not sink their neck in their shoulders.

    Edited
The real meaning is that ((we)) as usual are celebrating numbers instead of meaning, the rating (quantity) instead of quality, the square boxes instead of true squareness, rating instead of relating, competition instead of the poetry itself!!

I guess our souls are not spacious enough to understand these minor details!!

  • Amreen

Wow Chels! That is really awesome! Congrats:)

You're indeed a very integral part of this site and have always been cheerful and lively!

    Nice to have you

    ^^^

You know what...put a sock in it...stop putting words in my mouth...I made one comparision about our status ...I have made more worthwhile comments than you...stats on P&Q tell me it's a fact and there's...nothing more so..get over it.

What a nice post! I had no idea you'd been around for so long, Chels! It really is cool to reflect on how writing can change a person's life. I think being able to see poetry in the world around you makes your life richer, whoever you are.

You dont remember me because I didnt come to the main boards. I was scared of the war that was always going on so I stayed in my clubs under the wings of my cyber moms and sisters. lol

I know It was right thing to do for your age. The environment then was not sterilized like nowadays. But now you're more mature. One of the indication of such maturity is that you did not get upset from my objective approach. This is the kind of occasions that worth marking for celebration, instead, in my book.

  • ddavidd

Haha you must have tons of daisies by now.
didn't I know that abut you? few weeks ago:
Me :"With some coaching you become perfect. but I am not sure you would take coaching." (:(my way to say I know you wouldn't):)
You: "Lmao believe it or not I do accept constructive critisism. Id take coaching!"
haha I knew you have tendency to turn of your ears. It was you who did not know that about you.

When it comes to something we do not understand, the easiest approach, is to turn off the ears. This way we sustain the restriction of who we are, rims our personalities and cap our already cupped compensation of ourselves.

All I am saying is that the daisies have some medical properties. :) :)
