Yeah...I figured it was a vacuum thing but...I thought the popping should happen when the jar is reopened and, if it doesn't then don't use the contents. Both the jars and sauce were warm when I bottled.

Was your gran born in Perth Australia or Perth Scotland?

She was born in Perth married my grandad them immigrated to New Zealand.

My Family first Immigrated to Adelaide from Little Hampton England in about 1843

The lids should pop twice - in and out, when sealing and opening.
