A thought.

I can't sleep and I've spent the last hour on PnQ, browsing forums other than this one. Seems like this particular forum has become a club of its own, and I'm embarrassed to admit I rarely check the others. I'm a mod for crying out loud- I should be equally present in all of them! I plan to make a dent tomorrow, but I thought I would reach out to you guys and ask that you reach out to the rest of PnQ with me. There are quite a few members littered around, and quite a few young ones at that. I feel like as older members, most of us 20s and up, it's our job to look out for younger PnQ... Offer poetic advice, a shoulder to lean on, some kind words. We could learn a thing or two :)
I know I learned from the older crowd when I was in my teens, beginning age 15. Ten years later, still here. The site hasn't changed much and Janis' presence would do wonders for overall activity, but hey, this is what we have to work with, right?

Anyway, nothing but a thought I thought I'd share.
See you in the other forums, friends.

I take a peek at the other forums but I'll admit I don't do much, actually any posting over there. Good thinking Jane, a nice way to get back into the site after my little vacation.

I'll try and take a look at some of the other forums. Poetry has taken a backseat for me to photography, though of course as with any creative outlet there are links between the two.

Expression is expression. The rules are the same.

Jane are you really 25? lol (I promise that's not the only thing I took away from this!)

I used to be all over every forum all the time.. then, life. I think a lot of us who have been around a long time have seen the same questions being answered all the time (does he love me? can I date my best friends ex boyfriend? what kills you inside? I'm a cutter, what do I do?) and it wears on ya a bit.

"This site is like a graveyard, the people are barely alive, they are either young tens, or old coffin dogers, as far as chatting goes, they havent got past there a b c,s

jesus christ i havent met a live person yet with a personality"

    Dear Don

If you look at the members over 35 you will see that I have made it to the top of the most poems posted list of the coffin dogers. I remember how many members went out a kicking and screaming and went to great lengths to heard by Poems & Quotes members . I was a mod dodger when I was a DOD civilian employee. Many of the so called poems/rhymes I have posted were inspired by the Drama in the two main forums on this site . I have to say that I was influenced by some of the most dramatic of the golden oldies. Kevin ( the one with the zombie avatar) was one of the first that I debated was one the taught me some of the rules of expression that I used to ignore often in an intense debate . The boards do not have as much drama , but many who remember Sibs P&Q theology know that Janis did something right lol

Jane, you old woman, you, thanks for this posting. I have only made sporadic forays to the other forums but I will now.

Only hope I don't scare off the younguns.

Ha, did you think younger or older, Britt? I keep thinking I'm 21, but hell, I'll be 26 in October. I bet some of you feel the same way and you've got decades on me ;)
Also, didn't mean I'm not still learning from PnQ'ers, only that this site was a sanctuary for a troubled teen like myself.
Thanks for the positive response, gang.

I'm up and gonna tackle some of these other forums.

You're supposed to be younger. If you're 25, that means I'm 27. I joined when I was 17. WOW, May was 10 years on PnQ!

I agree, I am supposed to be younger. If everyone else agrees, I'll edit my birth certificate.

Can you edit my DNA to make me younger?

    If only.

I got carded the other day. First time in a couple years, so that was kinda cool. My Dad laughed and said "oh please, stop trying to make her day" haha. No one believes me when I say I'm 27!

    I believe it.
I see your all's pix in Facebook & it makes me think of my own daughters' high school days.

Lol.. I do look pretty young. One person asked me at work (senior citizens) if I was interning or volunteering from the high school lol. When I told them I was 26 (when I started working) they said I was full of crap. Ha. I love my job! They're darling.

Britt, it's a blessing to look young and I'm glad you take it as a compliment. I worry that I look older than I am.

I was waiting outside of the hairdresser in the mall the other day when a little lady sat down next to me. She asked me how my first day back at school was after holidays and what year of high school I was in. I couldn't help but laugh... I've been completing my graduate studies in high school education and had just knocked off from a day of teaching at the local school.

I get carded all the time, I often think it's my height but then again, a lot of my family say I don't look a day older than 17.

    You poor, young-looking darlings.

Nice one, Jane. I'm going to give myself five minutes to write a haiku for your contest.

I will try and help with this too and make some posts in al the threads.

I was thinking of a seek and find game... I will hide a saying or a word in a post somewhere, and whoever finds it wins a comment. Haha, oh the desperation for life on the site again!!

Well I was thinking it might be the only way to get people to read the forums, but then what will make them reply?

P.s... have started various threads throughout all the different forums, please everyone go and check them.

I also done a quick introduction forum in the meeting new members forum. This way people can get some basic info on people without having to browse through their individual profiles. It is all in one place :)
