WHY?

  • Abed

Since our DEAR mods locked the "At Last" thread at Nicko's comment, I'm asking WHY>>>

Why do people perceive Adolf Hitler as a devil, and they don't perceive Napoleon as devil, too?
In my humble opinion, the media plays a big role in blemishing a political figure's picture.... doesn't it?
Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, Bashar Al Assad, Benyamen Natanyahu, Aryel Sharon, George Bush.... all of them are murderers, all of them killed people, regardless of the ways they killed them... but I don't know how people really think, so any views from you guys?

It is a very long story that I am not sure has ended

    http://youtu.be/x4ccoU7OCcQ

He names the first nuclear target, a "great new city" at 45 degrees latitude. Experts agree that that could only mean New York.

"The sky will burn at 45 degrees, fire approaching the great new city! By fire he will destroy their city, an inhuman cruel heart, cold! Blood will pour, mercy to none!"

Hitler..I wont even go there. I'm incredibly disappointed.

  • Abed

Yes, many people see him as an epic emperor.

Michael, I didn't understand, who is the third Anti-Christ? And why the description?

  • Colm

Supporting a leader because the wrongdoings of other leaders haven't been as highlighted as his is illogical. Napoleon, George Bush etc aren't really comparable to Hitler.

The perception of Hitler as evil is hardly surprising given the fact that he is largely responsible for the genocide (in the true sense of the word) of over 6 million people, just because they were Jews (or disabled people, or intellectuals or other ethnic minorities.) He actively promoted the idea of a superior Aryan race and implemented ethnic cleansing on a massive scale. He banned other democratic parties and had a propaganda minister (Gobells) to control the media, brainwash the German people and children (Nazi Youth etc) and strictly censor anything that he didn't see as favourable. He also is largely responsible for instigating the biggest war of all time when he invaded Poland, France, Russia, etc. He also used his position to amass a personal fortune. The fact that WW2 is so widely studied and is relatively recent means Hitler is more known than most other leaders you mention.

Abed, what is it about Hitler that makes you sympathetic to him? Why do you say he will always be your political role model?

  • Nicko

Colm didn't you read "At last" thread ? Abed adores Hitler because he tried to eradicate the Jewish race from existence

And Hitler was responsible for over 9 million deaths not 6

I locked the previous thread because it had disintegrated to personal attacks and had nothing of merit coming forth.

Regarding Hitler, "Between 1941 and 1945 Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, communists, homosexuals, the mentally and physically disabled and members of other groups were targeted and methodically murdered in the largest genocide of the 20th century. In total approximately 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust including over 1 million children.[4][5] Of the nine million Jews who had resided in Europe before the Holocaust, approximately two-thirds were killed."
    Retrieved on 15 July 2014 from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust

    Also:
"In addition to Jews, the targeted groups included Ukrainians (of whom 3 million approximately were killed), Poles (2.5 million) and other Slavic peoples; Soviets (particularly prisoners of war); Romani people (also known as Gypsies) and others who did not belong to the Aryan Herrenvolk (Master Race) such as people with mental disorders, the deaf, the physically disabled, those with learning disabilities; gay men (and occasionally lesbians), transgender people; political opponents (such as communists, social democrats, socialists, anarchists and others with left-wing political views); and religious dissidents such as the Jehovah's Witnesses.[2][3] Taking into account all of the victims of Nazi persecution, they systematically killed an estimated 6 million Jews and mass murdered an additional 11 million people during the war. Donald Niewyk suggests that the broadest definition, including Soviet civilian deaths would produce a death toll of 17 million."
    Retrieved on 15 July 2014 from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust_victims

Abed, given that Hitler had not ever established control over any Mid East territories, how are you sure he would not have included non-Christian Arab, Persian, and others in his Holocaust?

  • ddavidd

I do not think that Abed is defending the Palestinian or Arabs. He's representing the Israeli's propagandas against them to delude people's views in their regard.

  • Colm

Abed why not just answer my questions. Why is Hitler your political role model and why do you admire or are sympathetic to him?

And what is Hitler really then, if we are all mis labelling him?

  • Abed

Colm, if you have noticed above, I have said that Hitler is a murderer, like the other men I listed, and whom you don't think they are because they didn't break the record of the 9M deaths.

*Regarding why do I like his personality?
It's intriguing. He has a great philosophical mind (his quotes will live forever) and he's perfect as a cinematic character ... Have you read his book? If yes, I think you'll have an idea.

  • Colm

What I meant is that you cant label all leaders, 'murderers' or not, the same.

I have read parts of Mein Kampf for history class. The whole anti-semetic thing is what stood out for me, but maybe I missed the point. And I didnt really ask why you liked his personality but why he is your political icon? Do you support his policies?

  • ddavidd

In the book of "MY Fury" or "Mein Kampf" Hitler says that the main significance of history is the battle of Semitics and Aryns. He farther said when the Persian defeated the Babylon, was the Arian victory over Semitics and later when the Arabs defeated Persia, it was a victory for Semitics and a majorsetback for Aryn and the history.
The father of Shah was the Hitler's ally and that was the one of the reasons that Allies conquered Iran but the major thing was to send ammunition to Stalin from the back doors. Even the name of Iran is taken from the word Aryan.
I myself am very proud of my background. But Persian Aryansm is oposite to the Hitler one. When Syrus conquered The land of Canaan:( Palestine_ Israel) back then, he not only didn't massacre Jews, he even built the most glamorous temple for them. Jews even refer to Syrus as one of their kings and saviors. The Arynsm of Hitler was fake, it was arrogant and Hitler himself was not a real Aryan.

(Sorry, this one does not have English subtitles).
I wish this great person was in today's times, not in the 6th century B.C....and the World would be definitely a better place to live. I have been watching his life and time serial for the past few months (produced in India and currently broadcasted on Sundays on Zee TV) and have found inner Peace, each time as I embrace his preachings and thoughts. And he never even claimed to be a God. All he taught was morality and righteousness, and how to find the inner truth and Peace. No violence, in any form.

PS: Some will criticize him and his followers, but little would they know the truth about him until people watch this amazing Zee TV production....I think the entire episodes are on their website. My life changed watching it, hope yours too. And I am not even a Buddhist. The Buddhists never claimed him to be a God, just a Teacher and a mentor for each individual who comes to find the real inner truth and Peace within.

    Buddham saranam gacchami

Please do not respond antagonistically to my post, as I will be in Japan and elsewhere, unable to help you to seek the truth. Just enjoy the serial, and I guarantee you, it will change your life and perspective. :)

I didn't understand, who is the third Anti-Christ? And why the description?
The name of Iran is the Modern Persian derivative from the Proto-Iranian term , meaning "Land of the Aryans", first attested in Zoroastrianism's Avesta tradition. The term is found to refer to Iran in a 3rd-century Sassanid inscription, and the Parthian inscription that accompanies it uses the Parthian term "ar in reference to Iranians.

Historically Iran has been referred to as "Persia" or similar (La Perse, Persien, Perzià etc.) by the Western world, mainly due to the writings of Greek historians who called Iran Persis (), meaning land of the Persians. As the most extensive and close interaction the Ancient Greeks ever had with any outsider was that with the Persians, the termination became coined forever, even long after the Persian rule in Ancient Greece and beyond had ended and other dynasties were now ruling the regions. In 1935 requested that the international community refer to the country as Iran. Opposition to the name change led to the reversal of the decision, and in 1959 both names were to be used interchangeably.[40] Today both "Persia" and "Iran" are used interchangeably in cultural contexts; however, "Iran" is the name used officially in political contexts.

The historical and cultural wider usage of "Iran" is not restricted to the modern state proper. Ir or Irn (Greater Iran) corresponded to territories of Iranian cultural or linguistic zones. Besides modern Iran, it included portions of the Caucasus, Mesopotamia, Eastern Arabia, the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia.

"The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" (meaning "good" or "auspicious") combined with "asti" (meaning "being")[citation needed], along with the diminutive suffix "ka." The swastika literally means "well-being." It is a common practice for Hindus to draw Swastika symbols on the doors and entrances to their houses during festivals, which is believed to symbolize an invitation to goddess Lakshmi. The name "sauwastika" is sometimes given to the left-facing arms symbol, which is a mirror image of swastika"

Hitler's cross is actually the opposite of what Christ taught and died for

some youtube seem focused on making Hamas in the offensive mode

    Looool
This doesn't get old now does it?
Put religion and ethnic roots aside my friends
    You guys confuse me
When we talk about the massacres that have happened in Iraq and in one way or another compare it to the 9/11 events in terms of casualties, you get members jumping on our throats saying death is death weather it was in thousands or exceeding a million.
and it becomes out of context to compare such events with the Holocaust? Well excuse me if I don't relate for the misfortune of others when my country gets to pay for what a lunatic from europe did back in the last century
And on what grounds? The price has been expensive
Blood split and the way most of you phase your logic
Shows me exactly how cheap our blood is worth in your eyes
I mean I honestly think that you're problem as a whole is that you redeem and value your blood much more than you value ours
Your politicians kill more of our people in rapid succession and then lie about it saying it's pink lemonade
And even if we corelate the dots to show you a closer picture at our reality you would blindly jump into a defensive stance with not trying to reason with whatever hard evidence provided

You say us Muslims call for the ethnic cleansing of Jews but then turn a blind eye on the everyday descrimantion we go through on daily basis
Ignorance exits, and on both ends
And if you truly believe that zionest jews aren't racist or call for our demolishin then you're from another planet
#arab in Hebrew on twitter you'd be surprised

    Godwin's law

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Jump to: navigation, search

    Mike Godwin (2010)
Godwin's law (or Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

Promulgated by American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990, Godwin's Law originally referred, specifically, to Usenet newsgroup discussions. It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms and blog comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles and other rhetoric.

In 2012, "Godwin's Law" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

This is going to be my last post in this thread, I feel banging my head off a stone wall would be more productive but here goes.

I was naive to think Abed that you could have a reasonable debate or conversation, or that you even wanted to. I know lots of other members who don't bother coming to the main boards because of this type of stuff anymore, which is a shame. I'm tired of trying to help you see your contradictions and hypocracies. Since you for some reason won't say why you support Hitler as a political figure I think it is fair to assume Hitler's anti-west and anti-Jew policies speak to you and I find it disappointing but not surprising that you feel that way. And to be honest I feel sorry for any Isreali or Jewish patients you treat if you become a doctor.

There's a Nelson Madelda quote as the Doodle for Google today.

'Nobody is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate and if they can learn to hate they can be taught to love for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it's opposite.'

    ^^
I hope this is true and I hope in years to come Abed you and others like you on both 'sides' can look on things with a more balanced view. It not always 'them vs us.'

It's sad to see the hate that is passed on from generation to generation. We had something similar here in Ireland with the Northern Troubles and I hope that in the future Palestine and the wider Middle East region can find a peace but as it stands, and with attitudes like Abed's in place, I won't hold my breath unfortunately.

P.S. Abed I did reply to your pm.

  • ddavidd

Haha Colm you are in the habit of: not responding to the mod's PM. box my friend. I testify to that.
I saw also Abed's unusual approach in this thread as well and I hope he understands that his approaches are hurting his cause more than helping.
He seems angry and hurt deep in his heart where that people LIKE US, would never understand. We haven't been even one day in crossfire or under the Israel's missile to qualify for the judgment we rendering so easily. Our parents, our 4 year neighbours ... haven't been broken to the pieces, massacred and slaughtered under gun pip fire . We haven't waken up every half an hour, in the sound of explosion, with the burning question, that who has won the lottery of death this time?? Is it me, my mother , my children my neighbour, how many houses away? Or is this excruciating burn on my chest mean I am hit or it is only my heart? Our people haven't been under siege for years without food supply and...Our land hasn't been taken from us for 45 years, most outrageously and ridiculously, based on a few thousand years old religious documentation that would be the most outrageously ridicules to bring up in any court of international law.
We at best are westerners who see the world through TV. The pixel world, the matrix version of the reality!
We should try to understand how easier it is, to manipulate the images virtually, than it is in the real reality. Where a mouse inflates to a hero named Mickey. Or a dragonfly inflates to a monster or a sparrow to an eagle versos a defenceless fox deflected allegorically to a harmless pet or a vampire to a little innocent mosquito!! Or how easy it is to assume hawk versos swallow, a fair fight or even to dissemble the fox is being victimised by that little monstrous sparrow.
But if you even listen to the statistics diligently, through the magic box of these very medias, you could see these comparisons are not that far-fetched:
200 Palestinian, half of them children and all civilian one side and the other side only one Israeli. Only then a Liberal like me and you, could put themselves in between and say: 'okay guys this is a fair fight; lets not jump to conclusion.' And then like a boxing match referee say: ' hay mister Palestine, or Arab, or...Abed, it was a low blow, play fair.' Our scale of measuring FAIR is already on deep slop my dear fellow poets.

"I'm tired of trying to help you see your contradictions and hypocracies. "

^ and this comes from a guy who says "you can't compare 9M deaths to 500 or 10K or 100K deaths"
Oh please, Colm. This tone of yours is so nauseating, like some French blondie's. I hope you could see yourself first.

"Since you for some reason won't say why you support Hitler as a political figure I think it is fair to assume Hitler's anti-west and anti-Jew policies speak to you"
^ Do I applaud for this? Assumption is PARTLY correct. Hitler says, and I find it so astonishing "I could've burned all Jews of the world, but I left a few of them to show the world why I've burned them". Today, and after witnessing the many genocides Israel is committing against Palestine, since 1948 till 1967 till 2008 till 2014, I became completely sure that Hitler was IN PART, of course, right for saying that. The wrong part in this is that not ALL Jews, but the Zionists, because there are thousands of Jews who stand against Israel, those who are outside of the state, those who don't think that because they underwent an ugly genocide they shall commit another genocide against another race, those we see on TVs, supporting the Palestinian cause.

"And to be honest I feel sorry for any Isreali or Jewish patients you treat if you become a doctor."
^ I'm not a doctor. And don't be too sorry, because if I were, my religion (and humanity of course) forces me to treat any injured/dying person, regardless of what he is. That is a totally different case, dude.

"I hope this is true and I hope in years to come Abed you and others like you on both 'sides' can look on things with a more balanced view."

^ You said it yourself, Colm. BALANCED. In this war, there's no balance. Almost all of the world is on the Israeli side, supporting this UNBALANCED/UNEQUAL war of a high tech, internationally-banned-weaponry-using Israeli army VS. a primitively-armed army-less imprisoned people. So when things become balanced, remind me to do so.

"P.S. Abed I did reply to your pm."
    ^ I won't even comment.
