I really really don't know about the judging idea... I wouldn't know how to judge them?? |

I don't think judging the poems would make me want to join for there are far better poets than me that being said I don't mind on the date |

I like the idea of.judging 1 through 10 but we would need one judge per club or something like that because of how many entries are possible. Just because quantity is never going to be everything. |

I like the idea of judging, but in that particular case I'd put in a limit on poems per member per day or something like that, and NOT go for quantity. And in turn make the prompt order rules less strict or something like that. So the focus instead turns into getting you writing more, and GOOD stuff. And maybe then a point system to it. Like, 1 point for adding an entry, and then bonus points (these being a lot higher) based on the quality, which discourages spamming poor quality poems. |

I think I will leave this one without judging, and just keep it the same. We can consider the judging type contest for another time. |

I do have a way to judge this, and also give the club with more poems more of an advantage. Let's say we have four threads ... The Judges would rate the first poem, for example, on every thread from one to four with four being the highest.. Then they'll move to the second poem on all threads and do on. Of course, the prompts should all be the same for all clubs and in the same order to give everyone a fair chance. Also, if a club or two have more poems that mean also more points, since the judging will continue accordingly. So let's say a club has an extra 50 poems than all others, they'll be getting 1 out of 1 for each poem.. That means an extra 50 points and, also, If a poem doesn't match the prompt it'll be excluded from the count - but that won't effect the others. So the points will still be out of 4 but this poem will have a 0. In the end we add the points and the club with the most points would be the winner. |

Never mind, Larry, if that's confusing. I thought it was quite simple really, but hey that's just me. Carry on, guys. |

Trust me, judging every poem, though a great incentive, is a BIIIIG ask. I still have nightmares about the spreadsheet I used for the first club marathon. You can easily get over 1000 poems in a few days. And you have to check that they followed the rules AND read them AND score them AND keep track of whose it was and where it came from AND post the individual scores. |

I thought without feedback it'll be considerably easier, especially that judges can judge as we write. Not all clubs will write a 1000 poems and the judging will be done as long as their is more than one club still writing on. Not to mention, that with the poems being judged quality wise I think the quantity might decrease. Just my two cents. |

I like your way of scoring where one good poem could be worth four-five crap poems, but yeah. Who is up for the huge task of judging? I remember sometimes 6 poems were being posted every minute because everyone in the club had theirs prepared and ready to go on cue. |
