Beautiful poem by a child

Hello community, I came across this poem written by 16 year old Peyton Glenn of Pataskala, OH. I don't know the reason this was written, but I found it very beautiful and touching. He has a gift as a writer and poet, ever since I read this I have been searching for more work from him. Anyways here is the poem, obviously it comes from a lover who has hurt the thing he loves dearly.

My dearest beautiful flower

Even in our darkest hour

Your beauty still shines through

Radiating to those in view

A majestic bird in the sky

You fly on, head held high

Undiscouraged by hurtful words

You soar on undeterred

Like a diamond in disguise

Your true beauty does belie

The horrors you went through

Permanent like a tattoo

The sight of you, so uplifting

Your beauty, always shifting

Like a Flower in full bloom

You are sweet, like perfume

Even in this darkest hour

You are still my dearest flower

Even after what had ensued

You are beautiful, this much is true

That's quite an impressive poem for someone so young. I mean the language is simple, but the deeper meaning is very powerful.
