    Prompt 7> Special occasions

    Making parents proud

    Our faces are still inscribed
by the dried tears of pride
    radiating our face
    with immense happiness
which were brought to life once
    by you!

Thank you for all the happiness you brought to our lives!

    Prompt 8> Wild card

    The photographer

    We capture stills of bliss
to cherish those perished moments of past
which tend to bring a smile on our face.

    Yet, a Photographer has stored
    with him
    a baggage of photographs
which will make us regret on our irreversible acts.

He would display us the slides of our life
    he clicked in absence
to show us those times when we turned evil and never wished to capture them.

A brown tail wiggles in anticipation
as a mop of fur inches toward
    her owner's plate left on

    3, 2, 1...

His flowers wait for him at home,
    each one trimmed to perfection,
    blooming for his satisfaction.

He dreads the day one begins
to wilt, three more will usually follow.
He can't bare to train another
bouquet of flowers to thrive in darkness.

    She turns her sputtering car
onto the side of the highway.
    Frustrated and confused,
she pops the hood as a
    cloud of smoke smothers
    her concentration.

    Suddenly, her cell phone
    rings and her Daddy's
    smiling mug pops up
    on the screen,

    just in time, she sighed.

    My notebook contains
    fragments of poetry
within the margins of life -

    a line merged within a
    random thought,
    a title smudged in the
    corner of a grocery list
    that failed to tag along
    to the actual grocery store,
    a stanza about the love
    we once shared stands
    lonely, like me.

    Sometimes our lives
    are just fragments of
    poetry waiting to be
    shared.
