    3. Must mention royalty in some way (crown, heir, king, prince etc)

    King Song

    King Kong and Henry

    though they did envy
an heir that could have one

    4. include the words, "first time" or, base the poem on the idea of a first time at something.

The first time she said yes

I got to the third base
    but I almost forgot
    I never kissed her face
and I wanted to a lot
I know I'm not your guy
    but if you don't mind
I am a little bit shy
I wonder if you'd be kind
and let me steal a wee kiss
she said, you can, I don't mind
after all I watched you piss
it's not like you are a stranger
I never really knew before what I was missing
but I did not realize the danger
that she'd steal my heart while we were kissing

    5 wild card

    Threads and Needling

    Have you heard it said
I am hanging on a thread?
    Words ringing in my head.

I no longer hang on threads,
when I take all of my meds,
    especially the blues and reds.

Do you have some light to shed,
Why some think God is dead,
and the world is being mislead?

    6. Formed Poem

    Outspoken (Triolet)

Seldom have I been so outspoken
when everyone has something to say
my poetry is just a token
Seldom have I been so outspoken
but now that the silence has broken
it hardly seems there's room for cliche
Seldom have I been so outspoken
when everyone has something to say

    7. Must mention a piece of clothing

    Pants Nightmare

    I have a reoccurring dream
    where I believe keys
    are in my pants ,
    but my pants
    are lost,
    so is my vehicle
    I wake up unrested
    and feel like a lost
    naked soul

    8. Category: love

    Affection

I seem to never tire of writing of affection
If I could carry rhyme and reason to perfection
I would script a masterpiece of romance
where lovers would come willingly to dance
Harmony a peace would rule each lovely day
when time had no limits that get in the way

    1. Include a type of transport(car, train, etc) and mention the weather.

    Cool Cat

I dreamed I saw Yusuf Islam
    singing about boots and sand
after he was told by uncle Sam
He's no longer welcome on this Land
In the desert riding on a tour bus
he sang of a place records turn gold
He's trying to understand the fuss
    about his religious conviction,
that seems to have caused a storm,
in the hot desert of the depiction.
Perhaps the weather will be wetter
when we are all on the peace train.
Some times a cool breeze is better
    after a little proverbial rain.

    2. Must have 3 verses (at least 3 lines each)

    Force with no brain

On the first day of the trip
    I was tempted to equip
    a brain with a microchip

On the second day of the quest
I was starting to get stressed
while looking for a place to rest

    Well I went through cyberspace
with an avatar with no face
it felt good to get out of the race
in cyberspace there ain't no pace
for there aint no one to give you space
if you get lost you're just a disgrace.....

    Henry#8

Ann lost her head over that King
how could she do such a thing
the church would not grant a divorce
    King Henry followed another course
    because he did not care
    He just wanted and heir
so he just had a bloody Mary
    Because fate will vary
    when your burden is great
    and you are number eight

    1. Must write a poem to yourself, or about yourself.

    To myself, with love

Once you had a clear idea,
of roads you were to tread,
    and roads that were forbidden,
roads into which you have slipped

Time goes by and you have promissed,
too many pacts you have made,
scribbled between the doodles and diaries,
    of past and future dreams

Just promise me, O' future self,
that no matter how far you slip,
that never will you forget the pacts,
that you have made with me

and promise me, O' future self,
that if and when you do,
    that you will soon remember
and fix that which has gone amiss

    3. War

    Cry of pain

    Palistine, O' Palistine
    how you moan in pain!
from lost youth and widowed woman
O' how you moan in pain

    Palistine, O' Palistine
    forced to drink spilt blood
    of grandchildren and grandparents,
Yes, forced to drink spilt blood

    Palistine, O' Palistine
    distruction all around
    children orphaned and houses broken
    Yes, distruction all around

    Palistine, O' Palistine
    O' forgotten land of mine!
All are with their business wrapped
    O' forgotten land of mine!

    4. Poem must mention money, or a type of sport

    Greed

    Dimes and quarters satisfy not
    the man who wishes wealth
    but dollars, gold and silver,
    bring joy unto his heart

He loots to collect this joy of his
in an all-ligitimate kind of way
    causing chaos in the land
for a bag of dubloons and k's (thousands)

He would kill if he had to
to gather this fortune of his
and try to fill the hole inside
    with cash and credit cards

but no matter how hard he tries
to fill the void with money
it remains as big as always
    and continues to expand

    5. Wild card

    Wheels of joy

    upon my face and hair
I like to skate and go so far

    dissolve and feel like air
I like to glide across concrete
be brave and follow a dare

    Playground nostalgia

Going to the park I found
    some children on the
    merry-go-round
    They spinned round
    and round
    ... and round
and I found myself spinning too
    on that round disk
    I saw myself
    on my back,
    eyes to the sky
    looking at the blur
    of blue and green above
    completly in a daze

    Kentucky bluegrass
    knobs fading in the distance

    through hills and valleys slowly
    on an old dirt road

    1. Must write a poem to yourself, or about yourself.

A sheep in a flock of wolves

    Sometimes people say
    ''Who is not a wolf,
    will be eaten by one''
    and I disagree,
to be a wolf you will
    be feared by the sheep
and I would rather be a sheep
    and live amongst the flock
then live alone with the pack
    I would rather be good
    and spread happiness
than be a threat to others
    the good in me
    makes me stronger
and none can break that strength

    Ode to triangles

    Pythagoras,
    he lived to glorify,
that shape which by all things
    are stable

    That simple piece,
    missing from the puzzle,
    to which all science bows,
    completing civilization,
a revolution of a different kind
    perfect and pure as white,
    it fit to correct imperfection

    Can you imagine architecture,

    Note to self

    On the road to perfection,
    you stumble and fall,

    to storm our houses
    snatch our children

    You continue to bombard

    our houses of god
    and call us infidels!

    I was born in Louisville
