    Me against the world

From me against the world I have come to love mods
my ruling planet is mercury messenger of the gods

1 The mods are our peepherds we shall not want.

2 they taketh me to the penalty box when I write too much they leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 They restoreth our accounts: they leadeth us in the paths of forum rules& guidelines

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of suspended and banned accounts , I will fear no evil: for mods art with me; their rod and staff comfort me.

5 They preparest a table before us in the presence of our enemies: they anointest our head with oil; our cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days our life: and we will stay at PQ for ever.

    Collaborated with an ancient psalmist
May my Lord forgive this humble humorist

    6. must include at least one colour, AND one shape

    Checker Board

One of my dads favorite game
was his checkers and checker board
Sizes of the squares were the same
But the black squares is where we scored
the checkers were round, black and red.
red squares could not be moved to straight
    across,but zigzaged before crowned
    Captured was a possible fate
played until one can't move around

Nashville Tennessee knows I loved her
Carolina I never lived in you
Road to no return or whatever
From my loving heart here is a haiku

    Carolina, trails,
    natural winding rivers
    are destined to fall

    2. include an item of stationery, pencil, paper etc.

    Blood on Stationery

    The envelope contained my passion
It was meant to be a gift for you
my style of courting is old fashion
putting it down in writing is too
my immortal soul, but a vapor
yet in my mind my pure love was true
I scribbled my blood on the paper
It was meant to be a gift for you

    4. Mention homelessness, or poverty.

    Shelter from the storm

    Karma, offering places that's warm
a virtual shelter from the storm
may be rewarded in the long run
whatever we do or what we've done
in the spirit of social reform
    pray poverty conditions transform
what goes around comes to be the norm

    Crime

Poverty is often due to crimes
    of selfish humanity at times
if a nation had one soul
    equality would be our goal

    Barrowed Lines

In each of my barrowed lines
through the foggy ruins of time
    clichés like reason and rhyme
    inspired by the sublime
    are carefully rearranged
    with meaning changed
to reflect the pain I feel
    the only thing that's real

    Depression

To think of what I had
    sometimes makes me sad

    The Chair

They told me I 'd get the chair
    With a divorce but I don't care

writing until I go to bed
    electric switches in my head

There's a place at poems and quotes
    for what any poet promotes
Some of us just want to look
others want to write a book
Some are here for the drama
    to criticize yo mama
Some are here mostly out of love
I'm here for all of the above

    PS
To the mods that love rule #2
I have got some news for you
    2. Do not post your poems in this forum.
    seems we've challenge your decorum
The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the rules

    Novice (acrostic embedded in freestyle)

    Give me a chance
    to do my best,
    to reach the stars
    and take pride,
    stand in the twilight
    ... and sigh

    Never have I failed to
obtain my goals if I strive, but
    vulnrable to criticism
I try to keep up with all demands,
control my feelings and push to succeed

    Yet, I am but human
and I can't lay back my tears
    when doing my best
    and evolving in my work
    I like to be appreciated,
    recognized,
    and given credit
    for my efforts

    2. include an item of stationery, pencil, paper etc.

    Pressure

    An hour since
    question number 25,
    pencil shakes
    as the clocks ticks,
    Oh how loud it ticks!
    I can't focus
    scribbles form on paper
    lead smudges everywhere
    heart beats with the head
    Think... think... think
    I earge myself
    ... to think
    recall that page,
    that picture,
    that diagram
    ... visualize!
    but the page turns blank
    every
    single
    time
    and my heart sinks
to the pit of my stomach
    as the bell rings
    ... times up!

    3. Include a crime, or mention prison, or both!

    Wrongfully accused

    Behind rusted bars
    he sulks
    knowing that his life
will soon come to a stop
    and he only regrets
    that his beloved
    thinks of him
    as a murder
    a heartless,
    mercilless,
    murderer

and so he does not care
    what becomes of him
    and kneels willingly,
    accepts his sentence
    this is nothing
    compared to living alone
    in a dirty
    cement floored
    damp
    prison cell

    He comes to peace
    everything goes dark
    he feels the noose tighten
    and then
    ... quiet!
    complete silence!

    4. Mention homelessness, or poverty.

    True optimism

    The Indian man
sat lying back on a rock
    mellow and beaming
    while he pulled off
    an orange's crust
    and filled the atmosphere
    with a zesty smell

    Suddenly a shoe covered foot
    trod by his cardboard carpet
    ''Slow down O' white man,
is it of your manners to step
    into a house fully shoed?''

    Surprised, he looked at the
man in the streets and glared
    at him in sympathy, amazed

    ''Yes, homes come in shapes
and sizes, home is where we belong''

''Home is not specified by place
or walls or roofs and doors.
This here is my living room''
he said pointing to the floor
and this tree here is my kitchen.
My toilet's right behind the bushes,
and my bed is this soft wet grass.''

'' I have the most amazing view,
    from up, down and above.
What more should I ask for O' silly
    englishman?!''

''I have the sky, land and the waters,
    what use are concrete walls,
but a limit to my freedom?!''

Dazed, the english man walked by
with a million thoughts in his head
and walked and walked across the land
    engrossed in thought all day

    Jump rope

    five.. six... seven... eight

how the were to part and go
    split apart and move away
with each other never to play

    7. include a piece of furniture

    Little hero (nonet)

He loves to stand high on the sofa
and wear his towel around his neck
with a proud smirk on his face

    of the virtuous
    and brave heros
    of them all,

    8. write a poem about this site!!

    Poetic communitiy

    We live momentarily
    in a cyber haven
    where we live multiple
    lives through writings,
    fragments of different minds
and we too get our shoes walked in
get to set our minds free
    to the public
    and our newfound friends
    We connect,
    though we come from
    different backgrounds,
    cultures,
    religions
    ethnicities
    and color,
    yet we bond,
    through the power of poetry

    P&Q is our other home
and its inhabitants are our family

Through the night (Quinzaine embedded in freestyle)

    Facinated by the world
I love to stay by a window's side
    as I journey through life
might I be escorted by nature's guide

Yet, nature sits calm respecting the night
    when it comes so gradually
engulfing the skys and land in beauty
    Another life is born magically

    The night stimulates all senses.
    Can you stand the wonder?
    Can't you see?

    Close your eyes...
    and open your heart
    ... to all possibilities

    2. include an item of stationery, pencil, paper etc.

    Lost letter

I was going to write a letter
but you know it seems I lost my pen.
To see your face would have been better,
though I could have lost my mind again.
You have torn my heart like the paper
I thought I'd lost along with my soul.
Do you think my feelings could tapper?
If you would ever lose your control?
Mentors forbid me to send letters
    My master often forgives debtors

    3. Include a crime, or mention prison, or both!

    Truth set free

I hope you find freedom in the prison
that you have been incarcerated in
I love you too much to see you locked up
Rely on the other hearts you've stocked up
Especially the one that has arisen
The one who loves you in spite of your sin

    4. Mention homelessness, or poverty.

    Refugee

    Many poor people I see
    must live like a refugee
    though they may thirst
    or where here first
    the wealthy control a border
that owns manmade law and order
