    Blank Eyes

    Memories stored in a box
    of denial
for which there is no key
    and yet...

    THE PRESENT:-

    Anguish bleeds
    from blank eyes
    held within
    sockets void of tears
    for so long,
    veiling sorrow.

    THE PAST:-

    Fingers of disbelief
    trace cold mahogany
    not once but thrice
    while numb mind
    processes thoughts
    to limbo.

    THE MOMENT:-

    Realisation
    knocks on door of reality
    shattering long silence
    but...
    there's no one home
    just me!

    THE FUTURE:-

    ....................
    ....................
    ....................

    They say time heals all?
    I'd love to meet "They"
so I could smack them in the face
    and call them liars...

    2. Funny

With a mask and a scream,
    The kiddo across the street,
    Came speeding like flash
( The super hero, oh my! )

    The ladies went, wow!
    The girlies, oh my!

    And his mom: Peter!!!
    Give me my bra.

    Mexico, your lands are vast.
Too vast for me to know them.
    Though your rivers, I adore
In them I would love to swim
To revive the old good times
    When grandma, mom, and dad
Grandpa, my uncles, and my aunts
Helped me explore part of your lands.

    Echoes
    from a past forgotten
    well...almost!

    Voices laid to rest
    come back...whispering...
    taunting...

    ears once closed
    now...
    listen

    At last I cry...

    6. Religion

Lord, I am here, here with you.
In the good and in the bad,
    You guide me through;
    Through storms to sunny days
To sunny days to darker days
But lord, I am here, here with you
Just like you are here, here with me.

#7 First time eating cheese (I'm a Liar!)

    I CAN'T write about cheese
    PLEASE!!!

    I just can't study it
    you see

    for...
    it vanishes the moment
    it get's on my plate
    a Saturday night movie
    it's my only date!

    On a Sunday morning
I get down on bended knee
full of remorse and this is my plea
"please dear lord I cry with cheddar lips
please oh please save my expanding hips"!

    A pillow in the window
    watches a widow
    walking in the snow
    as if her sorrow
    got hardfrozen in her heart,

    with the blizzard cold.

    6. Religion

I thought you were the benches at church
    where people knelt for support.
I thought you were the incense in the air,
    that filled the entire church.
I seriously thought that was your smell.
and that if I closed my eyes,

    you will be there,

    I thought, I thought

    I only thought...

but how silly, ah, I don't need to close

    my eyes

    to know you are there.

    At grandma's, she made tortillas.
With a comal and a fire that devoured
wood. Her hands modeled corn dough,
into a flat circle, and later, placed it
into the hot flat griddle to cook it with love.

    My siblings, watch her attentively,
while mom gave me a taco of cheese

    that I truly enjoyed.

    In you, I see.
    I see the moon
    the moon in black
    in black not white
not white like the sclera in your eyes

    your eyes so big
so big, in them, I swim
    I swim before I drown.
    I drown, too late
Too late, In your eyes I have drown.

    Round 3,

    1.

I see, this is a contest for my brain.
but can I too invite my heart?
it would pump my feelings in these lines
they would run to give these poems life
And if it's not too much to ask,
Can I too invite my soul?
It would make these poems feel alive.

    tell me,
    why oh why
    do you have stars?
    Night, please! do tell me,
why oh why, are you dark?
Night, please, please, do tell me, why?
Why oh why, many fear your charms
if you are serene, really calm.
You help me sleep, tell me, oh dear night, why?

    How (in)sensitive

    beautiful, dangerous things
    die every day deep inside
    as i abandon another poem
when it is looking at me.

    i regret my senses
    which no longer
    understand my insensitive days
    of hunger and deafness.

    i'm beyond today
as blind as i can be.
so let me express what my words
    can't feel
    yet.

    #7

    Another Birthday
    rang a bell of
    Forty Four times,
    chiming every grey
    hair I had upon

    Silver falls upon my shoulders
as the raven in me washes
    a rinse of showers
    as the last candle

    #8

    I've nestled thoughts
    like candy coated caramels,
    oozing upon a tongue
    of desires,
    whispering for more.

    As a memory is tasted
    I remember the smile
    that was placed upon
    my face and these are
    the calories I crave
    with an open palette.

    2. Category: funny!

    I was accustomed
    to clumsiness,
and the toilet was my friend,

    the toilet paper becomes
    a permanent article of clothing..
    for everyone at work
    to see....

    #2 Ode to the Macho

my dear, my intentions are honest and sincere:
you cook, wash and mend as i drink my beer.
our home will be our paradise and hell
and you may feed my demons in you cell.

i'm a macho man, the best version of the past
but sex has to be mechanical and fast.
please, don't bother me with your half despair
kneel down right now, i need your revere.
