    They were just candles,
    candles
    candles
awaiting to be lit by a steady hand

And then with a blow from a faithful mouth
    be unlit
    unlit
    unlit

    to grant a wish.

    back and forth
    back and forth
    one two, one two

the lady walking down the street
with a dress and a swish and a hiss in her skirt
    wearing heels that kill
    that kill
    her calves, her hips

    that killed
    killed
    killed

the man from the corner store.

    ambulance passing cars,
sirens screaming," I'm coming, I'm coming.
    Move it, move it

    coming through
    coming through"

see not what the eyes should see

    Title: The Needle

Grab me by the wrong end,
    and I'll prick you.
    Don't underestimate me,
    I'm sharp.
    Though, if you need me,
    I can stitch your injuries.

    Title: A Special Occasion

A ceremony takes places, children receive certificates.
A happy girl gets an A. She rushes to her grandma's house.
On her way, she smiles. She arrives. Rushes to grandma.
Shows the Certificate. Granma, mocks her. Tells her.
    Good grades mean nothing.

    Nothing, nothing.

    Minutes later, grandma's grandson arrives.
Shows certificate for being in the Choir. Grandma, celebrates.
    Laughs. Smiles.

in the reef, a siren sings
she calls the man at sea
    "come, come, come to me"
    my pirates of the sea

In the shore, a lady waits
    she sits and hears
    She hears the siren sing
And sees the man at sea

    sailing towards the reef

    then sink.

he thought he was one of the best.

    Line Messaging Form

I, watched grown men and women, live alone.
Their families forgot them, left them in the streets
as if they were trash. No wonder,
their heart grew weary in solitude

Mom talked to them. Gave them food
whenever she could. The old men and women
came to visit, smiled, and looked happy.
Though, when they were lonely, their heart was cold
but in company, it grew fonder

All it took for the old men and women
was a sign of care from someone else, to live life
    With love and gratitude.

    I won't taste more

    Depression (Trois-par Huit)

    Loneliness
    life full of emptiness
    dark cloak of sorrow engulfing.

Walls of depression closing in, suffocating
black cloud of thoughts are completely overwhelming.

    Solitude becomes an obsession
    blank face, no expression
    depression.

    Roll Love's Dice (Trois-par Huit)

    Clouds drifting
    sad memories shifting
to thoughts, dreary as this winder's day.

Reminiscing once more, the day you went away
and, although I begged and pleaded with you to stay

I knew I had loved to pay the price,
your heart had turned to ice
    roll love's dice.
