    3.

    Are we ever going to
    stop hating and
    begin to love?

If I was to die tomorrow
    there would be a smile
on my face so that the
    soul who gazed upon
    my eyes were share
    love instead of fear
    or hatred.

I heard the voice of the moon
call to me in a whisper as
    angels scattered like pigeons
in a tree, there was a mystical
    imaginative feeling that revealed
a pure nature that only I could feel.

    Acrostic

Joyously his name brings a smile,
Impulsively I giggle as he looks
    My way.

    I'm getting angry
    when I write of this
    subject because it
    brings horrible memories
    to the surface.

    There is nothing I despise
    more than the drink of
    vodka.

    It is getting close
    for me to retire my
    pen and get some
    work done around
    the house.

    I have forgotten my
    husbands coffee again
    and surly he is getting
    jealous of how I would
    rather write than converse
    with him....

I felt nothing less than awful,
like a piece of moldy trash
left by the side of road.

    Nothing can change the smell,
    I spewed garbage the day
    you verbally abused me
    for the last time.

    2. Wild Card

    When the fight started,
She hid in between two cars
    cowering away from the crowd

    always running

    Always

    But not today.

Today, she walked into the crowd
with firm steps and a forehead held high
    Until she reached the metro

Today, she almost took the bus

    to heaven.

    3. category : Life

Life was a bottle of wine in our hands.
We drink it. We drank it.
Until their was not even a drop

    left...

Just the bottle and nothing else.

    Title: To The Ocean

Just another day that I wait in here at bay
Never knowing if your waters will come today
yet here I wait like a boat stationed in the shoreline
for waves to ebb me from this coastline

    straight into the Ocean.

    Saffie, Saffie, why oh why?
    Ten to thirteen lines? Really?
Can it not just be five?
    Pretty, please? Okay, you win.
Ten to thirteen lines isn't hard
I'll just write them in one go.
    May be not. . . I'll take a break.
I'll eat my lunch. I'll watch TV.
I'll come back and see THE CLUB
    Write a gazillion poems more.

like a tie around my neck,
loosening slowly is how I feel today.
    Somehow relaxed, even though,
I have a lot of numbers that doesn't add.
My calculator or my mind is malfunctioning
it needs new batteries, there is no doubt.

    1. Must mention ONE animal AND ONE NUMBER.

At the zoo, a tiger in a cage
    roaring like a kitten
    Meowing and mauling in fear
    While from outside the cage
    One hyena watched it,
    Laughing and laughing hysterically.

    The tiger was me

    And the hyena, was YOU.

    2. Wild Card

My hair is what I am not, a rebel.
    It rebels against the weather,
    about whatever, or everything
    it just rebels.

    It surely complements me.

It's a just a mess, a mess, my mom complains.
why can't you have it organize, cleaned?
I tried. I tried. I cleaned it. I organized it.
    But it's always the same.
All I have it's clean clothes. No dirty clothes.
I left them in a chair. I tried to put them away.
    I tried. I tried.
But It's so hard to find time to organized my mess.
I just accumulate them. I piled them up.
one by one, one after the other,
I'm sorry, I cannot find time to organized myself.

    I'm such a mess.

I lost the thrive to grow like a tree
Instead, I want to grow not like a tree
but like a baby being nurture by her mother,
by an environment with fresh air
unpolluted with crimes and rich with love
So I can grow and developed healthy
So I can grow and help my own race
So I can be someone in someone's life
So I can give to humanity more than just a shade
more than just a shade to rest.

She was thunder, striking like lighting
everyone feared her, except the sky.

and made her feel powerful from within.

    I watched from the garage,
How it rained. It poured cats and dogs.
They fell on the street like raindrops,
and then they liquified into the sewer.

    But no one believed me.

    2. Wild Card

    I dream of an ocean
    where dipping my toes
    are mixed with giggles,
    sand in my hair,
    and getting back the
memory that I miss so much.

That was a happy night on the beach,
only next time I'll be alone.

    to fill with souls washed

    Marijuana left me limp
    under a tree for hours,
    my body was numb,
    speaking hurt my lips
and I never want to smoke
it again, but the smell was sweet
    and laughter among friends
    is a sentimental moment
    I will never forget.

And he said, why do you stare at mirrors
always reflecting thoughts that aren't yours,
    but your subconscious?
And I said, they are my image, being distorted,
    always looked through different angles,
    through different perspectives,
trying to find, not the one that looks better,
but the one that shows me what truly happened.
And he said, what truly happened in what?
I replied, that's what I want to see.
