    26.7 10-13 lines

    She stretches her limbs
    over his flesh,
    walking her fingers
along the casing of his heart -

    casting shadows
    along goose bumps
    and whispering melodies
    onto navels. There's
    romance tonight,
    curled in this
    bed.

    26.8 Metaphor/Simile

    Greek statues
    make shadows in
    her presence,

    sipping water
    from broken tea cups

    they look like
    clouds in nightmares
    and yet always

    makes sense.

  • Britt

    27.1 Animal/Number

    There are fourteen
    flamingos
    standing alone
    in the water

    and not one ripple
    is made.

    27.2 Wild Card

    New poetry
    never flashes from
    my fingertips

    instead it flows
    from the wine
    in my bottle.

    27.3 Life

    You were born
    with purpose -
    a strong intention
    in your life
    and yet
    you refuse to see
    the beauty you hold.

    We are called
    to be
    thirty-one women.

  • Britt

    27.4 Club Name

    It was a disaster
    held in her hands -
    she thought they held
    their destiny
    beyond their unique
    hearts,
    and yet they crashed
    like every other love.

  • Britt

    27.5 Formed Poem

    I wish to write more

    than just silly acrostics,
    however I can't be bothered
    in learning new forms,
not wanting to county syllables -
    kissing creative opportunity goodbye.

  • Britt

    27.6 Alcohol or Drugs

    The dress is gathered
    tulle, and she
    finds her inner
    fashion guru -
    her shoes spiked
    so high,
    her ankles trip
    as though they
    are on acid.

    She flounders
    in the bar,
    and gathers
    all the attention
    she wished to find.

  • Britt

    27.7 10-13 lines

    The girls are too pretty
    to be seen wearing
    dish soap and grime,
    brewing coffee
    on tabletops -
    instead, sipping lattes
    with red lips
    and sparkles
    on their hips
    is a more suitable
    place to be.

  • Britt

    27.8 Metaphor/Simile

    And like a sliver
    in the moon
    he gave me
    the darkest smile
    I believe I'd ever seen.

    He knew how to take
    my breath away.

  • Britt

    28.1 Animal/Number

    He hushes her
    with his stillness
    for she sings
    like a lone canary -
    he whispers
    soothing promises
    and she watches
    his eyes, two shifting,
    serious,
    in-love eyes.

  • Britt

    28.2 Wild Card

    Spoons are
    falling -
    handle over scoop
    and no one seems
    to realize the importance.

    She wears them
    like bangles on her wrist,
    and hides the antiquity
    of her lies.

  • Britt

    28.3 Life

    It's a warm
    Tuesday night
    and I find myself
    falling deeper into
    my book of instruction -
    filled with Your promises,
    truths, and revelations.

    Club Name

    You heard her before
    humming in the midst,

    of hardship and comfort
    of solitude and togetherness
    of heartbreaks and composure

like the voice of the moon
    ever melodic,
in the midst of it all.

    28.5 Formed Poetry

    Like a disease
    Of the heart;
    Venomous affairs
    Ends in death

    28.6 Alcohol or Drugs

    There's a frog stuck
    inside my chest
    jumping against my ribs, and
    oftentimes, my vision's blurry,

    though, seen my girlfriend's grinding
on someone else in the alley
    thought I just needed glasses
    until her best friend
    walked in

    smoking hot, and
    prankable,

    puffing
    on the holy herb.

  • The Queen

    28.7 10-13 lines

    Loneliness adds beauty
to life. It's a mixture of
    all-pervading dark blue,
    pasty grey, and rich
    and vibrant
    black,

    I wore color blue
when the love of my life
    left me,

    with blue contact lens
    to match with my perfect
    squared-neon-blue nails,
bluer than his eyes, I remember.

  • The Queen

    28.8 a metaphor or similie

    You were the
    twinkling streetlights
    in the distance,

    while I hovered, solitarily
    upon the ebony sky

    both waiting to withdraw,
    as the night remained
    a mystery.

  • The Queen

29.1 One animal and one number

    I was for you;
    a lion at the circus,
    at one time or another,
    a goddess on pantheon
    depicted with large breasts
    and a conservative smile,

    while all the while,
    I've loved you
    in my most outlandish,

    abstract
    reverie.

    29.2 Wild Card

It's eight o'clock in the morning,
    Still my bed's a pagoda
    ready to fall,
but aye, aye captain, I am waiting
    for your call.

My hair is already in a bun
    stiff and bouffant
    higher than the horizon
    at dawn.

    But my captain,
    I don't mean to be a bother,
    here, hoping you would reconsider
    setting your watch, perhaps,
    to the current time?

    29.3 Life

    We dreamt of shores

    of turtle hatchlings
    and of tiny crabs,
    as we dug an immense
    hole in wet sands,

    like tiny shovels
    we used our hands
    building a castle
    for our dreams
    as the summer breeze
    tugged at my hair,
    whistled in your ear.

    We dreamt of shores

    as we sail across
    the sea of life.

    29.4 Club name

    Tonight, the tides are high
on the voice of the moon

But come dawn, it'll draw back
to lick its wounds, forlorn and
    Leaving its broken shells
    behind.

  • The Princess

    29.5 form

    Damn I can't write
    A single formed piece,
    Might as well shoot myself,
    Now.

  • The Princess

    29.6 drugs

    The night you overdosed that
    You forgotten how to breathe.
    Your chest resting a moment
in bliss, as she cried over you,
    fists grabbing your shirt, arms
    cradling your head.

  • The Princess

    29.7 10-13 lines

    forgive me,
I've been spoon feed all things about a woman's
Independence from the cradle and I've been sleeping
in an empty bed for 23 years now,I don't know how
    to make space for another

But you make me want to wear
Red sockings and short black dresses,
and return my hair to its natural
    midnight black I always
Thought was too exotic for me.

  • The Princess

29.8 Must include a metaphor or similie

    Your words taste
Like lemon, lime and the salt

    of my tears

    I always thought nothing could
Break me other than words that
    Taste like cubes of sugar

  • The Princess

30.1 ONE animal AND ONE NUMBER

You dip my fingers into fresh paint,
    before pressing them onto one
of the walls, creating some leopard-skin
    pattern

and this is the closest I've come to art,
Your front against my back, your chin
against my head, your hand moving
my fingers as if they were a paintbrush,

    But I'd rather you were
    the canvas.

  • The Princess

    30.2 Wild Card

I'll write you till strangers two continents away
Know you by heart, till you reach china, bask
In the Maldives only to settle in some porcelain
English tea cup at 5 o'clock one evening

  • The Princess

    30.3 Life

Life must be a hanging plant,
    Coiling around itself, trying to
    grow skyward before falling
    like a waterfall every time.

  • The Princess

    30.4 must include club name

The picture of your great grandparents'
wedding, with the wedding dress train
spread like the flowing river, their features
in shades of blacks and whites.

    30.5 form - acrostic

Here's to waking up in the A.M. ,
Evading sleep like a cookie monster.
Lullabies work no better than whine,
Leaving only the snoring sister in dreams
    Or perhaps nightmares

  • Saerelune

    30.6 alcohol or drugs

    Unicorns and leprechauns
    Dance on the horizon -
    It'll be the background scenery
Of our first kiss, as we're sharing
    Magic mushrooms, to and fro,
    Hallucinating with each touch
    Of the tongue.

  • Saerelune

    30.7 10-13 lines

Sitting at the back of a truck
Like a product - I wonder what I might be?
Expensive porcelain, smooth as a doll
    Or perhaps illegal fireworks,
    Sold like slingshots of brightness.
    Regardless, on a day
I'll br used up, and find myself
At the back of this truck again
    Heading towards the garbage dump.

Then I wonder - what might I be?
    Rainsoaked gunpowder,
    Or perhaps blood-stained shards...

  • The Princess

30.8 Must include a metaphor or similie

There is still a piece of me
    Holding on to your hand
There you are upon the wall
    caught in glass like
    coloured sand.

  • The Princess

31.1 Must mention ONE animal AND ONE NUMBER.

    With 10 clumsy claws
    pull my hair up
    And breathe (like
    a dragon) fire
    down my neck.

  • The Princess

    31.2 wild card

    Dear heart,

If you must crash yourself upon
    his sun brunt shores

    then make sure you bleed
    white foam and not blood,
    For we are not endless
    and the winds are not

    on our side.

    DAY THREE

    1.1 vehicle + weather

I rest my head against the window
Of the tram, rain drumming against
My almost-skin, like a tropical beat,
But I'm stuck in the roundabout,
    Thinking about coconut juice
    And tummy ache.

  • Melpomene

    1.2

    3 verses

    You are

    a floral cologne of bottebrush
    and eucalyptus, salt and seaside,
    cactus and umber.

I have seen your cities dressed
in drainpipes, seen you mourn with
    cyclone and storm.

    You were the first spectacular
I'd seen, city biting at your
    ankles and sea nipping at
    your seams.

    1.3 king

    My toast is hard
    the butter is like lard
    only choice to discard

    The jam is off
    really wanted to scoff
    just left with this broth

    this stinking grey bile
    cooked and boiled awhile
only a mean king would smile
