THE CLUB #2

    1.) animal and number

    Eight orange orangutans
    ate seven gold bananas,
    dropped six juicy apples
and watched them roll, roll, roll
    the shiny red skins
    kicking up dust.

  • Narph

    2.) wild

    Marbles roiled on the ground,
    the lights flashed and
    no one made a sound
    the night that grandpa fell.

    3.) life

    This ebbing circle
    goes round and round
    grabbing and casting
    with a spindled arm
    the necessities
    and the orange moments.

  • Narph

    4.) club (M&M)

    She slides two cautious fingers,
    Delicate, poised, pincers prodding
    the exposed inner plastic
    of the M&Ms bag...
tiptoeing from unseen piece to piece,
    Hoping for a green.

    5.) formed

    Pill containers float in the
    Lapping winds of the
    Atlantic. Just a
    Small reminder of the
    Tidal backwash from this
    Intolerable and clumsily
    Coping world.

    6.) alcohol

    She grabs the glass
    and tips a steady stream
    of something stinging,
    stabbing, sweet
    just past her lips.

  • Narph

    7.) 13

    I like
    shots,
    a lot,
    a lot,
    but more so
    I like beer, because
    it's bitter, fizzing
    frisky face
    is like a tiny
    bubble bath
    for
    my
    lips.

  • Narph

    8.) simile

Oh, to be so cold, so square
    so certain of my path,
    as boxed, as stocked,
    as strenuously stoic
    as a kitchen fridge.

    1) ONE animal AND ONE NUMBER

The animals went into the Ark two by two
I'm sure the cats and rats didn't go in together
A dangerous combination to be sure
But who am I to know, I was not there

  • Nicko

    2) wildcard

    Help I need somebody
    Endless poems are killing me
    Last night till 2am
    Please anybody else

  • Nicko

    3) Life

Man's inhumanity to man has to stop
    We are worse than animals
    All this needless killing
    We seem so desensitized
    Nothing shocks anymore
    It worries me so

  • Nicko

    4) club name

    Ladies and gentleman
    FOP are kicking our arses
From one end of this site to the other
    So come one, come all
    Lets pull this off
    Ain't no prize for second

  • Nicko

    5) formed poetry

    Storm in a tea cup
    This contest is done
    Or my names not Nick
    Right form up in line
    Moria you're up

  • Nicko

    6) Drugs

I grew marijuana when I was young
    In amongst my tomato plants
It grew over six feet tall
    Lots of buds
    Lots of sore heads

  • Nicko

    7) 10 - 13 lines

The grass I grew wasn't that great
    Maybe the seeds
    Maybe the dirt
    But hey they grew tall
    Over six feet and all
I dried it out as best i could
    Then stored it way
    Under my bed
Away on holiday I did go
    With my stash hidden away
On my return upon opening my weed
Was a little nest of compost
    Great

    8. Must include a metaphor or similie

Last night my cat sat next to me
As snug as bee in a rug
As busy as a bug in hive
As senseless as these last few lines

    1

    Fairy dust is gone Nicko
So if you see poems that suck
Blame Tinker Bell for being a ho
As she didn't want to lend me some
    Of her lovely weed,

Don't be sad I just seem to have stolen some
    It ain't enough but enough
To get me through the day
O yeah that hit the spot Tink
I seem to a turtle win a flying contest
O yeah I'm one step from being completely insane

    2. Wild Card (senryu)

    We fought in the car.
He blamed hate, but I knew best.
    Hunger makes mad men.

    3. category : Life

Life walks under a shadow that
    we strain not to remember,
but only when we stop trying
do we forget and see the sun.

  • Narph

    4.) club

He's got a nice top hat,
    but his fopping, flopping
    raggly curls keep
    falling out from beneath it.

  • Narph

    5.) formed

    Fridays I just want to
    Loll around, and roll my
    Obtuse body across the
    Old oriental
    Rug.

  • Narph

    6.) drugs

    I took a hit
    and had to sit
    and think about my life.

  • Narph

    7.) 10 lines
    I
    Don't
    like
    counting
    Please
    stop
    having
    line
    number
    poems.

  • Narph

    8.) simile

As wickedly as a winter woman
the wind whipped in and wracked
the fridge of all it's family photos,
and fled back out the window,
    a trail of whimpering snow
    left in its wake.

  • Narph

    1.) animal/number

    Turtles toss
    their curls back
    on one of
    the turtle
    islands
    in
    my
    dreamz.

  • Narph

    2.) wild

If I was a can of bug spray,
I'd whiz a toxic whir of film
    that'd bake a mosquito
    in mid flight
    and turn it into snow.

  • Narph

    3.) life

    Life is hard,
    impetuous, and
    fortunately not
    eternal.

  • abracadabra

    4. club

    I swear our only mission
is to kick some foppin' ass
    if that's the second
    last thing we do.

  • abracadabra

    5. Formed

I shall form this tiny poem
    in the pleasing shape
    of a right-angled
    triangle that
    stops at
    'now'.
    :)

  • Narph

    6.) drugs

    The relentless moving of lips
    and spillage of words
    caused a slippage of mind
    and a stunted appreciation
    for the specifics
    of grammar.

  • Narph

    7.) 10 lines
    In the morning
my bedroom is a summer home
    where I lounge
    on my sundeck
    reading the newspaper
    and nibbling
    a homemade scone...
    until I open my eyes
to find the same old dingy mess,
    and another day of work.

  • Narph

    8.) simile

The ocean is a big tablecloth
spread from beach chair to beach chair
little bits of waved lace and frills
    hanging off the edges.
    Damnit, it's a metaphor, okay?

  • Narph

    1.) animal/number

    One
    mosquito
    is
    too
    many

  • Narph

    2.) wild

    Rickety dickety snickety split,
    the little old hen
    hopped out of her pen
and ran off to a better life.

  • Narph

    3.) life

    In the yolk
    a new yellow life
    goes sunny side up
    and turns into
    a chicken.

  • Narph

    4.) club

    FOP, I'm sorry but your
    Optimistic non-stop posting of
poems is not going to save you from THE CLUB.

  • Narph

    5.) formed

    If I
    touch the bump again, I
    can't guarantee that I won't
    haul off screaming.

    6) Drugs

Saw a bloke on LSD the other day
    Sat opposite on the train
    Tats head to foot
    Not many teeth
He had a bright shinny new guitar
    Played it well dam well
    Not all was wasted

  • Nicko

    7) 10 - 13 lines

    We sat in silence
    For most of the trip
    He strummed his guitar
    Strummed it well
    Sang even better
    He started chatting
    He'd been in jail
    Killed a man
    Manslaughter
    Kinda freaked me

  • Nicko

    8. Must include a metaphor or similie

I felt as brave as a loin that day
As he smiled his toothless smile at me
    And held out his hand
    Yep manslaughter
I killed a man he said
    I didn't ask questions
    Just smiled back
Hoping he didn't get off at my stop
