    7.) nature

    Moths twinkle
    in the porch light
    miniature stars
    come to flutter
    around the night.

  • Narph

    8.) double forms

    Dogs have sweet slobber
    and soft, snoozy, sniffing snouts
    eating poo outside

    they will lick your face
    you will have no idea
    that they just ate poo.

  • Narph

    1.) me

    You see yourself
    reflected in the dogs eyes,
    not literally,
but in that same loving, needy way
    someone,
    please hug me.

  • Narph

    2.) pnqer

    Jane is a woman
    with a plan.
Whether she knows it or not
    she's a star.

  • Narph

    3.) war

    She was walking
    down the road when
    veggies rained from the sky
    exploding into intolerable salads
    at her feet.
    She was allergic
    to vegetables.
    Jeeze, Britt.

    4. Money/Sport

    Money is just paper
    with our greed printed
    on the corners

  • nouriguess

    5. Wild card

I stare at the water boiler,
already feeling the scent of coffee
    in my lungs

    6. one colour/one shape

    What now?
    The green land is dead
    and our hearts are shapeless.
    Have some mercy.

    7. Nature

    Trees are lovely
    when they're not going up
    in flames

    Double acrostics

alas, we only have a few hours
    before this
    big marathon ends and
you might say we're way behind but

really, it has just started and
only a few hours are enough to prove and
convince you that we're the winners
kicking butt with our serious writing
    skills right from the beginning

    1. Must write a poem to yourself, or about yourself

    I'm the ennui,
    the insomnia, the fear
    creeping into his heart

    2. Must mention a member's username on this site (active, or inactive) yes, you can use your own.

    Strange to think once I
    fashioned you a weathered willow,
    but my roots grew deeper;
    my branches stretched out.
    You-
    you remained a stunted shrub.
It took a few years to forgive myself
    for blocking out the sun.

    3. War

    War is a man's game,
    and man is a woman's.
    Neither want to play,
    but neither can resist.

  • silvershoes

    4. Poem must mention money, or a type of sport

    Money is a funny thing.
    I often switch between thinking
    having it
    or not having it
    is the enemy.

    5. Wild card

    Lady Mary hoped
for love she was unsure, but
    wanted all the same.

  • silvershoes

    6. must include at least one colour, AND one shape

    Flowered, bright red head atop
    a long, viscous stem.
    Inhalation makes me drunk.
    Not a rose, but
    a beer bong.

    7. Category : nature

    Some love the city jungle
    and catch nature in glimpses
    here or there,
but I love what lives and breathes
    without need for poetry.
    The green of trees
    the green of grass
the green of a healthy earth.

    8. Double Form ( either double of the same form, i.e 2 haikus, or, 2 different forms joined, i.e a Tanka followed by a haiku.)

    Sometimes I wonder
if you see me in pictures
    more than in real life

    I'm with you, always
    but something blocks the distance
    and it's a smartphone

  • silvershoes

    1. Must write a poem to yourself, or about yourself.

    Dear future me,

Yes, I'm sure I made poor choices
    in August of 2014.
    Choices that undoubtedly changed
    everything, but
    you know who to blame.

    2. PnQ member

    This poem
    this tiny little poem
will be for nobody on this site
because it's cold and empty and
    dark, it's no secret
    and I love you all
    enough to keep you out
    of it

    3. War

    You know the expression,
and I don't know much about
making war but surely it ain't
    anywhere near as good as
    making love.

    4. Poem must mention money, or a type of sport

    I don't mean to brag
    but this is as sporty
    as poetry gets and
I do believe I invented it.
    I did mean to brag.

    5. Wild

    The work day is over,
    and it's hilarious to call
    the battle between Britt
    and Narph any kind
    of work.

  • abracadabra

    6. colour and shape

    Let's stick with the theme
of my red cone of a skirt,
    and wonder whether those
    askew legs underneath
    were smooth or hairy.

  • abracadabra

    7. nature

    My full bladder
    is nature's way
    of telling me to
    leave this screen
    and remember
    the rest of my life.

  • abracadabra

    8. double form

    a double haiku:
    a completely new poem
    form written for you.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooootttt. That's a long word
    for only one syllable
    doncha think, buster?

  • abracadabra

    1. you

    Here's the thing:
    I'm going on a plane
    tonight to a territory
    unexplored, but at
    this point, I'd rather
    stay with my Clubbies,
    our eyes glowing in
    the darkness of our cave.

I'm not sure I know what
a baby rainbow is but I'm
    pretty sure she will never
    read how crap this particular
poem is and this is the only
time in my whole lifeI will
ever write baby rainbow in a
    sentence, twice.

    3. War

    War comes in dead shades
of black, white, and grays between.
Sometimes a grim scene is brought to life with
    bold, red strokes,
and we gasp at the statement.

    4. Poem must mention money, or a type of sport

    Pennies are like people.
    Useless without numbers.
    Over 100?
    The lower class might care.
    Over 1000?
    The middle class might care.
    Over 10000000?
    The upper class might care.
    1?

    5. Wild card

I get excited when I see "wild" written
    almost anywhere,
but excitement is tempered when I realize
    no rules means
    nothing to break free from.

    6. must include at least one colour, AND one shape

The invisible line between FOP and TC
burns red in backs of my eyes,
    but it's growing thinner,
    and soon it'll disappear.

  • silvershoes

    7. Category : nature

    Sometimes I worry
our children will not know it-
    they'll ask, "what's nature?"

  • silvershoes

    8. Double Form ( either double of the same form, i.e 2 haikus, or, 2 different forms joined, i.e a Tanka followed by a haiku.)

    This might not be
What you're wanting, but I doubt
One member on here will bother to care!

    Acrostics were once my most
    Cherished type of poem, but
Really, there's not much to them.
    Once in a while,
    Something stands out, but
That's not going to be this time.
I haven't put effort in, and it feels like
    Cheating.
    Still, it'll do the job.

    1. Must write a poem to yourself, or about yourself.

If you lived in a future version of yourself,
you probably wouldn't eat so much,
    or drink so much,
or think so much about future versions of yourself.

    Nourayasmine is perhaps the sun
    blazing in a distant galaxy-
    terrible in her beauty,
    blinding in her radiance...
    Gentle, always, while she
    warms unseeable worlds
    with golden, flickering fingertips.

    3. War

    War is not watching
    your people die without being
    able to do anything
    about it.
    It's when they refuse to
    let you rescue them.

    My pocket is empty

    tuna sandwitch for
    lunch.

    5. Wild card

    I hate dictionaries
    they explain everything
    so easily

    6. one colour/one shape

    I have this oval pillow
it's pink and fluffy and comfy
    and I don't
    like it
because once I rest my head on it
I can't raise it up in hours
