Family was just sitting around the table for dinner and my dad saw a notification that actor Robin Williams had died in his home, details aren't known but it was possibly a suicide. I have also heard he struggled with severe depression. This is so shocking to learn this, and 63 is still young. He was such a fantastic actor, prayers for him and may he rest in peace. |

Evidently unlike what it seems, being a comedian is too tough and has an opposite effect: |

I read from an article that it's suspected suicide by asphyxiation. I heard he had struggled for many years with alcoholism, but not sure if that is a fact. Very sad to hear, he has always been a favorite in our household. His smile was always contagious and never failed to make me laugh, definitely one of a kind! |

I think his role in Good Will Hunting had the greatest impact on me. Such an incredible actor, comedian, and person. Very sad. |

I absolutely loved Good Will Hunting and Patch Adams. There was a post on Facebook that had a picture from Aladdin (Aladdin and Genie hugging) and it says Genie, you're set free. Heartbreaking. |

Talking about tribute t Robin Williams. He was not religious. so do not make this tribute to a religion. Haha do not crucify me just because I asked you to stand up on the table for real. |

Robin Williams was one of my favorite actors/comedians. I first started watching him when Mork and Mindy first aired back in 1978. Being eight years old I was in awe of his adorable sense of humor, then as I grew into my teens, watching his comedy he made me giggle even more. Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal and Robin were a hoot! The three of them together was a riot... So I grew up with Robin Williams and my heart aches. |

Not meaning to change the path of discussion at all, everybody is free to cry on him and the reminiscence of his roles is cool and stuff.. (so you can just ignore what I'll say next; believe me, Jane, I couldn't keep my mouth shut lol : |

The simplest path to our beloved Robin Williams is "Patch Adam", " dead Poet Society", " Good will Hunting, "Bicentennial Man" I dare you guys to sand up on the table in real life. |

Do not judge people Abed. He might died for the same reason THAT CONGESTS OUR HEART IN THE DALY BASIS. The common hurt. |

I think when celebrities take their lives, it brings a sense of the realistic nature back to people. |

Completely agree with everything you said, Britt. Took the words right out of my mouth. |

Just because people are sad to hear about Robin Williams' death doesn't mean they don't care about the pain, suffering and deaths of other people around the world. The fact that people are sad about his tragic death shows their humanity, its natural. |

Can't add much more to what Britt, Hannah, and Colm talked about, because they brought the truth here. |

I just can't fathom that the whole world is in tears for a person who took the silliest, weakest decision in life, and that is committing suicide .... meanwhile, we all know what's happening in the world, maybe it's the new trend, or maybe people aren't people anymore. |

I am a big fan of Robin Williams ,but I see your point about the tragedy in the Gaza is most of the dead don't get to choose when and how they go out |

I don't like to clog up what is a rememberance thread but if talking about the issue raises awareness then maybe its a good thing. We probably should talk more openly about depression and suicide. |

I totally agree with what Colm has written . I am in no place to judge. I will be surprised if there is any serious drugs in Robin's toxicology . Most addicts chose to die the way they lived and any chemical imbalance affects judgment in my humble opinion |
