Well, it would seem that Oscar Pistorius has finally been sentenced. 5 years jail and he could be freed in as little as 10 months according to this clip...

Anyone (especially our South African members who will know the legal system there better than the rest of us) have any thoughts on this case?

From what ive seen.... It was miss Steincamp (sorry for the miss spelling) who said they expect to him to serve 10months... How ever all the news journalist interviewed on tv are expecting to serve at least 5 years prison with good behaviour. I maybe wrong buts that's how I under stand it.... Hope this helps....

He's sentenced with five years maximum for culpable homicide, and yes, with good behaviour, ten months.then for the public misuse of firearms he gets I think three months house arrest...I can't believe it really, here in South Africa you get 77 years for rhino poaching, but for taking a human life,a maximum of five years

I think a lot of people take human lives in low profile cases and never spend a moment behind bars
