Thank you Larry and Colm for the explanation! Much appreciate and there is indeed a lot of other work that is done that we members are never aware of. :]

"you're insulting everyone under the sun"

    First I do not insult
Second, If one wish not to be exposed, s/he should not come out in the sun.

    I agree with Colm post

    To Ddavidd,

Thanks Sir. I also have Senyru in mind. I think he is a perfect candidate for the task. (I mean "perfect" as the most suitable)

A new Mod is needed and will be very helpful to the group of mods we have.

I personally feel the new Mod should have full knowledge of this site and know their way around and what not. I personally feel Everlasting or Senryu would make a great choice. or spice it up some and say ddavid or Hellon :-)

Oh ddavidd dear, you know I'm only picking on you because you're my friend.and actually I really don't mind the exposure because there isn't really anything to expose, and I do rather enjoy the sun, it's one of my guilty pleasures :-)

Ah yes!!!Mark, my technological superman :-) he would actually be a brilliant candidate since he seems to be perfectly technologically inclined :-)

I agree with the latter Andrea, one of these two would add a new dimension to the Mods team ;)

Best of luck to the new Mod!

Great explanation Colm, I cant believe it is two years already.

I also agree with Senryu or Luce.

two excellent candidates who both stay calm under a fire fight.

Thanks : The Fairy Marry Poppins
    you welcome EL.

and sweet maple: Who is ddavid??
it seems someone tries to break one of the purple wings of my cute dragonfly.

Dear Hazel if I were a politician it would suit me very well if you became a mod because you are my friend. But as a true friend I have to put you before my benefit. And what benefits a friend is honest truth because without that even though I would look more appealing and friendly to you, in essence I would be just using you as an investment. But I made you to face the hard fact that might take you away from our friendship but In future you will learn that the true friendship is what takes us out from the darkness of our souls.

I apologize Larry , It was too long for one post and two different topics.

    Some criteria of good moderating:
A good mod should stand up for what is just, not for what conveniently and conventionally is accepted as just. To do that one should see the world from the perspective of a child
what I mean by that goes to the Hans Christian Andersen's story " The Emperor's New Clothes"
that only a child could see the emperor did not have any clothes, because all the adult were afraid to mention that his new clothes in fact was nothing. They were all sightless to the fact of nakedness as all of us, to see the things exactly as they are: blindness out of convenience!!

S/he (mod) should be a politician but to the certain extends. Because politicians tend to sacrifices the true just for what seem just. Because what elects them is what appears to people's eyes and not what is really out there. And because of this reason I would never be elected in this site. The unavoidability of my defeat is chosen by the impossibility of spirit in current human condition.

A mode should see into any conflict without any bias and find who is the starter of the conflict regardless of his/her own prejudices. S/he must, instead of just jumping in the middle, only trying to stop the conflict take time to investigate in the spirit of TRUE MIND (as Shakespeare mentioned) . I know trying to stop comes first but then there should be an inquiry to whom started the insult, or the conflict (but be very carful because any argument could be taken as a conflict.) Then in that scale No argument should be allowed, and we all know, this, by itself, is against the foundation of democracy.

A moderator should have stomach and do not lose it or take any discussion as argument and any argument as conflict and any conflict as intolerance.
There are more but this is enough for now.

Anyone can apply. Even if you're "underqualified," you're giving us an idea of who you are and what type of mod you might be if you're more qualified in the future. Hazel, thank you for your interest in the position. I'm sorry for negative comments by others, and I hope they don't weaken your enthusiasm.
Larry is a cunning poet. It's unfortunate you feel the need to insult what you don't understand, Ddavidd. Even if you seriously believe your insults are not insults (but some brand of harmless honesty?), they don't serve a purpose other than to place yourself above others.
Colm did an excellent job explaining our reasons for the new mod search. Thanks, Colm.
Thanks to all those who have made a positive contribution. We appreciate your helpful suggestions, support, and applications!

Even though I love you as a moderator but you are so emotionally immature, if not for any reason, merely for this statement.
Where did I ever call " Larry is a cunning poet."??
He is a decent man, a good poet , a fabulous mod and an outstanding mind(person) but what these have to do with our conversation?? I bet you do not understand.
What you see as insult is the naked true that is so shining it insults your eyes.
I do not position myself above others, it seems that way to the people who do not have wings.

And should I apologize for my bluntness?? Okay I do . But only because you need it.

I have never read Gullible's Travels, a 1917 book by Ring Lardner, but I am tempted to borrow the title for a satire poem of the PQ experience at its worst
I sort of miss the drama kings and queens though lol

  • ddavidd

I am sure you will catch up.
    Just read this tread only

  • Michael D Nalley

Catch up on the drama kings and queens?

Gulliver's Travels is the only way a political statement could be made here once lol

Things are better for me now even though most of my topics are ignored

I would not make a good mod. but admire anyone with the guts to attempt the impossible

  • ddavidd

"I would not make a good mod."
I do not believe that. You were the most well balanced person: Moderator- Mediator in the history of this site.

Even though You call these commotions drama and insulting me twice by calling me a drama king and queen in the same time.
I guess if you were living in Bethlehem 20014 years ago you would call him the same name. Because you do not look at the motion you just react at the commotion.

The drama king thingy was aimed at a former mod (not Alfred who is not you lol) I cannot think of any good or bad change in history that did not have drama attached to it in some form even in Eden Drama, politics, nor religion is intrinsically good or evil

"I would not make a good mod. but admire anyone with the guts to attempt the impossible."

I agree with Ddavidd that you have been a great mediator between mod and member, regardless of the parties involved. You should send in an application if you find time. And "attempt the impossible" is exactly right. Could not have put it better.

Ddavidd, I haven't double-checked, but I was certain you were diminishing the value of Larry's poetry, which made me think you simply do not understand it. I was not quoting you when I said he's a cunning poet. I was making a statement. Thank you for the apology, heartfelt or not.

Here is a much better application process:

Sure, only four people applied, but there sure was one earnest, shining application submitted. I give you all permission to plagiarise it.

    but really?
writing short poems werent allow in the forums? O_o

  • silvershoes

You would not only be warned, but penalized for:

    1. Posting poetry in the forums (yes, this included your own poetry, and yes, even if the poem was relevant to the topic).

    2. Going off topic in any thread, even if it was harmless and the thread poster did not mind.

    3. Double-posting anywhere.

    4. Questioning a mod/mod authority.

    5. Posting the poem of a deceased friend to your account with clear demarkation that the poem did not belong to you, but instead belonged to said friend (this happened to me -- I posted a poem by Elisabetta after she died in order to honor her, and I was suspended for it).

    6. Using any cuss words ever (including, but not limited to "ass" and "crap").

God Abby I had a great laugh reading that so thank you so much! Your application was hilarious

Jane: Santa Claus ain't coming? lmao way to burst a kids illusions if they read that post though I laughed so hard since that's just too hilarious.

Everlasting we kinda messed that rule up when we had the clubs contest lol (if it still was a rule)

I AM EVERYTHINGGGG. (This is to ddavidd. eh.)

Yeah, the old days had some pretty awful moderatorship. It was good for inciting rebellions and such.

  • silvershoes

I'm sure there were more absurd rules that I can't remember. Feel free to add on.

Pretty awful moderatorship, yep, but those were the days of TC's glory! Great forum battles. Amazing conspiracies. Ravenous gossip. Hot heads and fiery hearts. Farts, pirates, love affairs. More penalties and suspensions than a girl could ever ask for!

  • Everlasting

    Who wrote those rules ?

    The current mods rock!

  • Britt

Janey you said I was manipulable, not manipulative. ;) Which makes sense.. I'm gullible and want to be liked, bahaha.

I wasn't trying to be turdy in my questioning. I was honestly asking because Sher didn't seem to be around much and it seemed the rest of you were doing okay.

  • silvershoes

It was a fair question, not turdy. Sher hadn't logged on for months. Most of us haven't been on much besides Larry, who is famously dependable. I guess we wanted to spice things up and with Sher officially demoted, why not bring a new mod on board, ey? It'll be fun.

    Oh, manipulatable. That makes sense...
    lol <3

  • Michael D Nalley

Yes, long before you were a mod I got into a heated debate about the cons of crack cocaine . I moderator that I won't name called me out for posting a relevant poem he thought was mine lol

JPM was using words that would make a sailor blush and was never warned lol

  • ddavidd

A person who plagiarizes is not a poet; s/he is not a wo/man of her/his words!!
I recently contemplated to post some poems of a few very powerful poets of French language ( just because English writers are so alien to the French poetry that surpasses all the languages , but Persian, Only because of Hafez, Rumi and Omar Khayyam.) as my own
I wanted to ask permission though from Larry who I respect a great deal . My reason was to mock all of you who I were sure would ignore them, as so many other great poems, in this site.

  • abracadabra

Groovy, I love being mocked. You sure would have taught us ignorant bunch a valuable lesson, ddavidd!
