    Title: Neon Lights

    When stars fall like rain
like liquid drops of fluorescent moisture,
streets will be showered with neon,
people will be showered with neon,
everything will be showered with neon,
    trees,
    oceans,
    even the seeds
    of this apple
    on the table
    will be showered with neon
    the glass of water
    on the sink
    will be showered with neon
    my skin
    will be showered with neon
    The world will be showered
    with neon
    with effulgent lights,
    with luminous lights
    with swashes of
    colorful glimmers
    splashing everything with neon

    and I,

    I will just watch.

    I'll watch the world
    being suctioned,
    distorted with light

    I'll watch the universe
    become a big lamp,
    I'll watch the colorful lights
    become like hotel signs
    I'll just watch
but at some point in time
    I'm afraid
    everyone will have to
    close their eyes.

    Pictures and Pain

    Pictures capture her pain
tears seem to sweep her mood,
Her little girl was gone in heaven
and a rosemary lays in her hands,
    The coffin takes a bow
    waves to everyone goodbye,
    Because that's the last bed
    her baby girl resides in.

    Summer Ghost

    Each path taken leaves
    the choice of the path untaken;
that part of me that wanders away
    into the summer, a ghost
    perhaps to cross paths again
    as strangers, as friends
or perhaps to cause the death of me
or be my salvation after all.

    back in your arms.

    you never offered to hold me;
i never wanted to be the codependent one,
a newborn cub never nursed by her mother,
    who challenged the jungle
    and falling, flaming rocks
    alone.

you cannot father me; a daniel in the den,
you escape your own four walls, chase
    opportunity though you cannot fly,
dreaming of a lover's limitless embrace.
    (i could never replace hers).

i cannot indulge in a life you never fed me,
    lucifer's cat-and-mouse game;
    (my heart unthreads itself so
    easily).

    god's waiting room

i plunge into the san francisco water,
greying as angels neglect to sing, sinking
me while sunlight asphyxiates. i wait to ride
your pacific breath, but all i am choked by is
my reflection. you did not choose me. you don't
exist, do you? not even on earth, not even on
the demoralized icebergs of heaven. the tides
now drown me into a purgatory i could never swim
    through.

    Pendulums sway,

    moonlighting as a cinnamon ponytail.
2AM becomes dabbling in past lusts,
no one could fall in love with addiction.
Coffee shops are saving graces for writers,
but loneliness cannot be described in a muse.

There is no metaphor for being the odd girl out.

    Mosaic Waltz

    Corridor's of light
    flickered...

    under a
    vampiric
    moon
    I waltzed.

    Bitten
    in secrecy
    our shadows
    shaped like
    a glass urn,
    holding
    ashes of
    two lover's
    skeletal
    tears.

    Eternal
    silhouettes,
    masquerading
    upon a night
    of misty veils
    and perfumed
    breezes.

    Hushing a
    silent,
    respectful
    courtesy,
    my mate
    kneels before
    me-

    A gentleman's
    kiss of death,
    two glass shadows
    in the night....
