Gooooood morning PnQ! Fresh faces grace the front page of PnQ this morning and away we go! The site had to break a three-way tie this week; our judges had a wide variety, so you'll be seeing heaps of HM's this week. Congratulations to our three fabulous winners, and of course all of our Honorable Mentions for this week!!
Top three:
Nature's Key by Rings of Poetry (10+10 = 20)
Hello Again Dear Woman by Maple Tree (7 + 4 = 11)
No Looking Back by Beautiful Soul (10)
Nature's Key by Rings of Poetry:
This nature piece just took my breath away!
The true beauty and elegance of nature was transcribed with eloquence
In each and every line, I was mesmerized!
I really enjoyed the elements mixed with the forms in this formed mixture. Rings of Poetry has written a beautiful Quatern with a haiku and it was very nicely written I might add.
The word usage was dazzling along with the message of True Mother Nature and how she blesses the world! Truly a beautiful piece this week! (10)

First a applaud you for the formed poems. This, given the loops you had to work around, is beautiful! This is one of the finest nature poems I've read to date, nature's beauty is thrown through this poem lie no other. Beautiful descriptions. (10)

Hello Again Dear Woman by Maple Tree:
This is a heartfelt poem...
You described simple cooking and the more I read the poem the more I wish I met her, I believe she is up there smiling loving the poem you've written her.
The poem works on the emotional level and you have hit this home on this write...(7)

Maple Tree has given us a very touching dedication this week, one which will bring you to tears, especially if you had the pleasure of knowing the dear woman whom the poem speaks about. The touching details in this poem are beautiful, personal, and truly capturing. A poem that easily brings memories alive and captures the soul of Momma Pike once more, for everyone to remember. (4)

No Looking Back by Beautiful Soul:
I find this poem offers a true picture of behind the scenes in a relationship where one partner is an alcoholic, and the other is battling between staying or walking away. The wording is not cliche, like you might find in this topic within other poetry, rather it is portrayed through unique metaphors which paint a vivid scene of this battle. The story told is typical, although endings in real life often vary, Beautiful Soul has given us a hopeful ending in this case, where freedom is sought. Creative piece. (10)

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Topsy Turvey Tongue by Tarnish
I was immediately enthralled by these beginning verses - physics and chemistry are both branches that study matter, the former usually of how it interacts with the universe, and the latter typically studies the internals of matter, and how they react along with other matter - and they both are wedded in an array of disciplines; quantum mechanics being one of them, and Tarnish's reference to phi reminded me of a paper I've read about the presence or rather "implantation" of phi in quantum mechanics, I believe it was something that stated the free space between lattice structures were a function of phi (or rather the golden ratio), and it was just interesting and alluring in a scientific sense. This entire poem just interconnects the beauty of literature along with the inquisitive sense of science, and it's just perfect. I can just go on, and on about this piece. It's just breath-taking, and a magnum opus of sorts. (10)

A Hero by Cute Things Gone Wrong:
This piece is absolutely wonderful, it is clear and concise. It is personalized and honest, yet it reaches the heart of every member in the audience. It follows a very difficult form to master and the ps is a great touch to get the rest of the meaning out. It feels as though this write is meant to be a goodbye or a warning to the intended soul but it breaks the heart of the audience in the most beautifully tragic way such a seemingly simple piece can manage. This piece truly does its job and opens the eyes of the audience. (10)

Word by Silently Screaming
Whoa, this piece truly blew me away, it is something so many authors can relate to, so many lovers and friends and other relationships can understand this almost perfectly. It's well penned and the word choice worked so perfectly, the flow was velvet and the voice came across so sweetly despite the sorrow or frustration of still not penning the perfect thing for someone else or maybe even for not penning anything to your own specific approval. the ending was wonderful, how you were able to say so much with such great intention and then make your way to a single common word that you think a lot and have yet to write. It's interesting and brilliant. (7)

Unforgivable Transgressions by Hannah Lizette
A poem that shows remorse and guilt for committing a crime, and serving the punishment of time behind bars. This poem shows the perspective of a prisoner and how he has missed the opportunity of life, of family, and of raising his son and being that role model for the son which he perhaps wanted to look up to him. The author has shown the reality of forgiveness in these situations, in that convicts can often ask for forgiveness, even though they know they do not deserve it, or that the victims of him crime will consider his apology. Good story to base a poem on, well done. (7)

Driving from Success by Larry Chamberlin the Godfather
Larry has the ability to take a deep message and spill it onto paper, with style and grace. From a man's heart and soul. I admire his style!
The message holds true, failures are never forgotten while success is like a cloud in the sky, it comes and it goes...
My heart sank into each line.. it truly is sad how society would rather feed off of poisonous wrong doings rather the beauty and heart of a soul... Powerfully written piece by Larry this week! (7)

Eight Years Underground Can Really Kill Someone by Poetess
This piece is just heart-breaking to read. The title itself indicates this - it's alluding to the toll of the pain of losing someone close to you. The use of time was quite creative - it made for a stronger narrative and makes it really easy for the reader to empathize with the author. That being said, this piece was just really pulled on the heartstrings. (7)

Adore by Ah Satan
The transience of this piece is just amazing - it was extremely powerful due to the wording the author used. It captures the essence of a moment of love in short few words - and the ending was just absolutely amazing, and unexpected. Well done! (4)

My Immortal Warrior by CuteThingsGoneWrong
This piece was mystical, captivating and just wow in my opinion!
Reminds me of the medieval days of Count Dracula, not being a monstrous killer, but a man sacrificed to the life after death of immortality...
the ending truly set it in stone for me... just a powerful read and very uniquely crafted as well!! (4)

Forever is Not Long Enough by Beautiful Soul
When I first saw this poem I missed what category it was in. After reading how the sadness of this poem hits, like a slow creeping sadness you don't realize it's there till it punches you in the gut.
And this describes love in so many ways (4)

The Hug by Kitten
This is a short piece that captures the heart of everyone that reads it. It is simple and truly in the spirit of being a mother. The way she described a hug so purely and so detailed in a beautiful use of words is wonderful. There is an image of this moment of how pure and stunning a hug can be and just how much something so simple can mean to someone you love. The style of this piece is unique and phenomenally done. it leaves an impact that most pieces are not able to. There is a sense of self in this piece, despite being dedicated to her children, that really shines and adds personality to this and makes it that much more of a delight to read. (4)
Congrats again to everyone around, and thank you judges for getting all your votes and comments in when you did! The mod squad truly appreciates it!!!
