    Hi Everyone! I know I'm early but I have a busy day tomorrow and didn't want you guys to have to wait while I sleep and work.

    As you can see we had three clear winners this week. Britt has had a busy few weeks: promoted as mod again, doing lots of writing and of course now scoring a poem on the front page. Abed is also in the light this week with his first poem posted to PnQ since September! We also need to congratulate Rings of Poetry! This is the second time since joining that Rings has had a piece on the front page. Congratulations to all three winners, nice to see some variety. To all the members who scored a HM, well done.

    WINNER COMMENTS

    Tonight, Jesus Won't be Born by Abed

    A touching poem that explores the discrepancies of the holidays around the world - far too often people forget of the hardships people are facing while they are caught up in the festivities of the holidays, and this piece describes that in a tragic beautiful manner that pulls on your heart-strings. It depicts and contrasts (indirectly) what the holidays entails for some people. The very last verse, "it's supposed to feel like home." made me shed a tear. Well written Abed. (10)

    This poem holds such a sad story, but one that you cannot stop reading, it is like a scene in a film that you rewind to watch again because it so moving. The poem is based around a conversation between mother and daughter, who seem to be victims of a world disaster and have nothing to their names, yet they have each other. The wording of the poem is very descriptive, and really does tug at your heart. The scene is so vivid, you just want to reach out to the characters and look after them! Beautiful poem. (10)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    This poem not only highlights the sorrow currently seen in so many parts of the religiously centered world (the middle east especially now) and how holidays wont be the same this year because of the riots and down turns the pains and brokeness of each country and it's civil disrupt state. I cannot tell if that was the inspiration for this or not, though it does feel like it, to me at least, and that is why it truly captivated me. This piece pours out heart and soul, begging the reader to understand the pain of the world and the destroyed feel of upcoming holidays and celebrations simply because the gods and beings they believe in currently seem to be MIA. The emotion in this short, delicate piece is overwhelming. The word choice and every literary skill is spot on. Abed has penned nothing short of perfection this week. (10)
    This piece has such a unique sense of imagery and it conveys a story in a way that most pieces cannot, it says so much without even really stating the true source of loneliness while at the same time making it more than obvious. It is clear this person is tired of being just another part of the crowd - like so many are in their teenage/young adult years, but still wanting to fit in to some extent of not being "weird" or discredited of their existence/humanity. I love personally love the feel of this piece and how her voice shines not only brightly but compassionately as well. Which is a difficult task when writing with a sense of angst as this seems to hold within. (7)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    Adore the fish bowl analogy in the first stanza! To be a follower when you truly just want to express in writing how you really feel.

    Powerful descriptions are made within this poem to help the reader feel what's being displayed.

    To be a quiet shadow is nice at times. People need time to reflect and process things and sometimes that can't be done in today's society, however it's beneficial to a person's psyche to be done at times.

    Just a wonderful poem by Britt this week! (7)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    The notion of being a follower is something many people do on a daily basis. the way you described it was clever and unique! (4)
    Fire & Ice by Rings of Poetry
    I loved the imagery and feeling you get from this poem, especially the 2nd stanza because it goes so quickly from fire to ice, and for me that symbolizes something. Also I loved the wording you used and the placement of words. This poem is a fantastic read (10)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    This poem is mystical, realistic and just out of this world beautiful! Truly loving the universe concept along with the elements being introduced in this piece. The metaphors are just beautiful!

    I love entire piece consisting of astrological components and tying them into feelings. This poem has a unique angle with this metaphor. Very nice!! (10)

    HONORABLE MENTIONS:

    What happens when the lights go out by nourayasmine

    Another touching poem that describes the hardships of people, and I'm presuming those of Syria that is coming up in the winter. I'm aware that there is a lack of money that's going to prevent the UN from helping out the Syrian refugees with food, and clothing. But this just breathes life into a perspective that makes the reader's heart tremble with sadness. Its beautifully written, but tragic because of the content. (7)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    Warm by Mnemosyne
    An interesting piece that was quite experimental, or rather new to me in terms of content, delivery and structure. I loved the repetition and the imagery of these words - it was an easy to digest piece that was concise and beautiful. Well done! (4)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    Fleur-de-Lis
    by Hellon

    Adore the message within this poem! Sheds a new light on Eve and the temptation
    Message.

    The word spring was creatively displayed which was fun and expressive!

    The angle of unity, the other side of things forgotten holds a ton of thought provoking messages within this small and powerful little poem, something Hellon does very well! Had to highlight this piece!! (4)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    Tip Toe Love Baby rainbow
    The way you portrayed this is quite well, I love the idea of tiptoe love and its cute and towards the end you really begin to feel a bit of sadness and loneliness that in my opinion brings the poem together (7)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    Nanna by Ah satan 666

    I find this poem very beautiful to look at, and I admire the time the author must have taken to make this layout possible. The content of the poem is a personal dedication which touches on the loss of a grandparent, but the spirit of this lady lives on throughout her granddaughter, and also through all the other people she touched with her wisdom. A truly beautiful write, really reaches out to your heart. (7)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    Hell Awaits by Beautiful Soul
    Another poem which shows some of the harsh realities of life, and war, and what goes on in the world that perhaps we do not think of. The details in the poem are very fresh, and it is moments that you don't really want to know about, but yet you know they happen. The wording is very raw, and tells the situation exactly as it is. The author has done a great job on this one. (4)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    A Poem to the brave by karla

    This piece is a little on the lengthy side but it keeps the reader engaged fully. It has descriptions that blew me away and a voice that is so unique within not only her writing but so many of the others here. The style she chose was perfect for this piece and it truly got the point across in a remarkable way. (4)
