  • Hellon
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

I haven't seen the movie...I just remember the TV series from a long time ago with some really English sounding guy with a funny hat and an even funnier coat...together with his pipe they never seemed to be separated hence my thought on...how could he participate in picking his nose let alone be a martial arts expect haha!!

  • Michael D Nalley

"I went crazy seeing that scene... It was damn good."

    The best I've ever seen

  • gumshuda

Hellon I guess you saw the series:

'The adventures of sherlock Holmes 1984-1985'

Truthfully I consider that series as the one which portrayed the sherlock as Conan Doyle had in his book..
And I feel in love with sherlock watching that series :-)

  • Hellon

No...I think it was much earlier than that???

I was looking for someone in the eastern hemisphere!

My favorite Sherlock growing up was always Basil Rathbone

    who is now my avatar

  • Michael D Nalley
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

It's like me passing over John Lennon because I could not imagine him in the traditional sense of an author

I asked if he died east of the Mississippi I guess Hellon took it as close to the river or State

It would not have stopped me from passing over the world renown singer song writer lol

I was hung up on the east also

  • Hellon
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

I got confused about that too Larry until I googled..

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Hemisphere

And...I think Basil Rathbone is the actor I remember being Sherlock Holmes although...was he actually born in England???

  • gumshuda

Sherlock is from the eastern hemisphere right?

I Google it and east had Europe in it....

  • Hellon
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

Michael...you asked a question about the Mississippi River when I ran the thread on Abraham Lincoln...not John Lennon

  • gumshuda
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

My favorite sherlock is the modern sherlock..

    Benedict cumberbatch..

I am Sherlocked. And Ben addicted. :-P

  • Larry Chamberlin
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

My daughter, Jessica, and I got hooked on Cumberbatch as Sherlock. She gets back from her first semester of college & we're going to marathon the last season. (Neither of us have watched it yet - waiting for the other.)

You're right. Confusion of terms. Europe is in the West but is in the Eastern Hemisphere

  • Michael D Nalley
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

    Oh that's right

But I could not expect you to know the American way of thinking when we say east of the Mississippi we mean all the land east of the river that cuts the states in half .

I would not have guessed that any faster anyway lol

Did you die west of England? I've already said I did not die in England.

I always think of the USA as being west of England so I should "I've already said I did not die in England." as a yes although in my mind you could have died in Europe or Asia (not that it matters)
It taught me not to assume everyone thinks like me

You didn't watch the third season..*shocked*

    Yuo gotta watch it...
Episode nine is the best in all the episodes...

I can't believe you didn't watch season three..

Well season four is said to be released in 2016... Can't wait

Michael d nalley ...I can't make head or tail out of what you are saying...

  • Hellon
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

Every person and every place/country does not revolve around America Michael so you have to keep that in mind. Remember...when you ask a question...be prepared that there will be more than one answer that is truth....

    BTW

I haven't switched my TV on in over2 weeks....not up-to-date on any series that are running.

  • Larry Chamberlin
10 years ago, updated 6 years ago

I have held off watching because we've watched it together.

By the way, Sherlock, when I was in my 20s, was the 3rd most written about character in the English language.
(That would have been in the 1970s.)

I don't know if the same is true today, but can you guess the other two?

I think Christopher Lee?? I didn't really like him if I'm right though...

  • Michael D Nalley

I often get hung up on taking things to literally

    Asperger symptom

When you said I already said I did not die in England
it was much more confusing than a simple yes or no? I am not complaining just thinking out loud
    lol

  • Hellon

    Ouch Mickey...don't worry...I know you weren't complaining...it's cool..
