I think emotions in general are behind most of oour actions and choices in life. Doesn't just have to deal with love, it could be other sorts of feelings. |

People tell me im of the latter. I don't know if this is true but I go with what feels right and what feels right to me is the right thing to do. Even if it screws me over (it does all the time) |

I believe love is a chemical, it cannot be synthesized or induced externally but it is a chemical which is formed in our body due to certain events and it gets washed away after some time!I once used to think love would be real, then after a certain painful mistake I have realized that the only real persistent thing in life is pain and also the strife that accompanies,so I'm trying to cuddle up with that! |

I feel you can truly love only one person in this world and that is yourself. |

But the chemicals released in your body when you fall in love (like norpinephrine, oxytocine, serotonin, etc - we spent a whole month studying them this semester, ugh) are just a reaction. So, I don't think love is just a chemical, but when we are in love, our hormone levels change, which makes your heart beat faster and your knees go weak. |

Well if not just a chemical then it's a whole chemical phenomenon but for me it can't be anything else(sorry for being so stubborn about this thing) but no love is a chemical, that plays with our mind, screws our body and leaves just when we get comfortable with it,rather call it a drug(a chemical with lower molecular mass), it gets induced by your brain,in your brain( the kind of thing that happens in pre frontal cortex when we are sad( I believe it's morphine that gets secreted, anyway)) and then it refuses to leave and finally when it does it leaves us in need of external analgesics. |

There are those who refuse to distinguish between lust and love. I totally accept that lust is almost entirely a physical, possibly chemical reaction. However, to deny love is to narrow ones own possibility for existence. You might just as well deny one's ability to self-effectuate, or even to find true purpose in life. |

Very well written! It was about this time fourteen years ago that I was experiencing physical changes (in hind sight due to Eros) I was losing weight at the rate of a pound per day. My doctor was very pleased believing this was very good for my heart. CS Lewis divided LOVE, or broke it into four types . I don't recall the order by chapters but one was the Love between man and God another was the love between mates (Eros /Cupid ) thirdly between parent and offspring , then the love between friends. |

It may have been Augustine who said had there been another drive as powerful as sex then he never would have found salvation. |

St. Augustine's teenage prayer went: 'Lord, grant me chastity and continence; but not yet.' |
